Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] What are the rules for LMS for merging albums from different subdirectories?

2019-12-14 Thread BJW

Links in my sig cover this, and discuss when comp=0 tags are needed.

Personally I avoid all this by always keeping all tracks on a given disc
in one folder. No more, no less. I never need comp=0 tags as a result.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Maximum songs on playlist using url Spotify?

2019-12-14 Thread Michael Herger

There is a playlist on Spotify with almost 1985 songs. When I add this
playlist to my favorites using the url link I'll get only 200 songs in
my playlist. Can I increase this?

You'd have to get your own client_id from Spotify. See
https://developer.spotify.com/dashboard/applications

Once you got it, go to Settings/Advanced/Spotty and enter it in the
plugin prefs. This should unlock most such limitations. It will be slow,
though, as Spotify wouldn't allow us to get more than 50 items in one
query. Which means the plugin will have to run 40 requests before
serving up the full playlist...

Sorry, Huey, I’m not the developer, but as I understand it is, C-3PO is
made very specifically for High Resolution Audio. Not sure if there is
any benefit in upsampling lossy formats. But if Squeezelite does it, why
not.

Not sure if this has been asked and answered, Could not find it though,
but why can the spotty streams, or lossy formats in general, not be
upsampled? Is it just that it was not build into the plugin logic or is
there another restriction?
It seems that if I resample on the player in squeezelite, all streams
are being resampled?

Thanks for any clarification!

I can host C3PO in the edo repository until you get your domain sorted.
Can you provide me with an official zip and repository.xml file if you
have them? Otherwise I can use the file that PasTim kindly provided to
make it.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Eco Friendly LMS Survey

2019-12-14 Thread steve-g

If you store your music on a local HDD then I would recomend either the
Odroid hc1 if 2.5" drive or the hc2 for 3.5".

These effectively have there own case (the heatsink) which holds the
drive.

Relatively easy to set up if you use armbian which has an armbian-config
program to do the basic linux setting up and will even install Linux to
the hard drive.
Still need a bit of Linux to install LMS and samba though.

the hc1 takes less than 5W when idle and 7 - 8W when active.
