Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS failimng to start with perl version error

2020-01-27 Thread Michael Herger

So the /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/arch/5.28/Audio/Scan.pm file is
the one that is loaded and also the only one including a valid version
number.

That's the one I would have expected LMS to use. I wonder why it
wouldn't pick its corresponding binary, though. Can you search for
Scan.so, too?

The Server Log File appears too big to upload, so I have renamed the
existing Server Log file which has forced LMS to create a new small
Server Log file. I am going to upload this small server log file. Is
this any use for analysis?

If not i may have to find a way of uploading the big Server log file.

Thanks again. Any help will be most appreciated

Thanks for your help. I am attaching the Scanner Log. I hope these are
helpful to someone. It's very frustrating having no music. I just take
it for granted when its working, but I am very grateful for any help.

Just confirming that this is the way mine is configured. I also start
LMS under my user account, but from what I gather this is not necessary.
You might try it though. Search here for other ideas. People have had
success doing a thorough delete/reinstall of LMS, or deleting their
.prefs and letting LMS rebuild. If you post a log, that may help
someone diagnose the issue.

Debian Buster ships with Perl 5.28. LMS does not ship with 32 bit
binaries for Perl 5.28, and probably never will. So it simply won’t
work.

This issue report may be worth reading:
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/issues/285

Debian Stretch ships with Perl 5.24. LMS does ship with 32 bit binaries
for Perl 5.24, so that’s why it worked.

Is it probably best to remove all of LMS from the server, and then do a

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Double entries in playlists

2020-01-27 Thread dej...@kraanendejong.nl

I use a lot of (long) playlists and keep adding music to them. Sometimes
it happens that I add a track that's already there. Is there a way to
search for possible double entries? It would be nice when you would get
a notification when you add a track that's already there, like the
Spotify does. I have the playlist manager installed.

When I go into Services, Logitech Media Server is not listed. This may
be because I turned off Automatically Run At Login?

I turned this off because I thought running it manually might help, but
it made no difference.

But I have now ticked the option Automatically Run At Login again and
I’ve rebooted by PC.

Gone back into Services but I still cannot see Logitech Media Server
lister there.

Currently, Startup Option is set to Automatically Run At Login

BUT, if I set LMS to Automatically Run At System Start then it does
appear in Services.
In General tab Startup is currently set to Automatic
In Recovery tab, all three failure fields are set to Restart The
Service.

LMS is still stuck on Starting and does not move on to Running.
