Hello and thanks to Michael and everyone for keeping things alive here. I just made a leap from LMS 7.7.5 to 7.9.2. I assume you installed 7.9.2 on top of 7.7.5? I think you should give 7.9.3 another try. There's been an issue specificall with Windows which I only fixed post 7.9.2 release: https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/commit/d1ead103d426f8e1ae66bd3eaafac03890e9f042 - The following "new" plugins were installed: CD Player: DSD Player; Group Players; Music and Artist Information; Music Information Screen; Radio Paradise. None of these plugins would be installed without you actively enabling them. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9.2 problems since install yesterday
Hello and thanks to Michael and everyone for keeping things alive here. I just made a leap from LMS 7.7.5 to 7.9.2. I did not wish to change a stable configuration but while recently catching up on the forums here I saw many concerns of mine would be addressed by the latest stable build. Unfortunately my initial excitement has been followed by a number of issues. Below are some details with logs attached, I am grateful for any help and recommendations. I may not have the depth of understanding that may be required, but I follow directions well, thanks in advance: - Windows 10 Pro on Dell Latitude Laptop. I have manual windows updates configured and have made no recent changes. - Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1578996832 - Music IP integration is the best! - IPeng is running on all my devices, but I use the html interface whenever at my desk. - No recent software updates or additions have been made to the system. A fully functioning environment changed upon the install of LMS 7.9.2 24 hours ago. After installing 7.9.2 over 7.7.5: - I am experiencing random server shut downs without a clear pattern. Sometimes it is minutes apart, sometimes hours apart. - Less frequently, in fact only twice, the server freezes while showing it is running and a force close of LMS is required to restart the server (system reboot may have resolved this). - One time the server restarted itself after a random shut down. - A scan for new and changed music initiates when server starts without any prompting. This has been consistent since 7.9.2 install without exception (see next point). - No progress is indicated in the above unprompted scan and the view is hung in "1. discovering files and directories" with no progress visible. - I added new music to my Music IP library to see what effect it might have on scan behavoir. Despite LMS scans appearing hung and my aborting them, at some point it showed in LMS. - Selecting the prompt to "restart" server when changing plugin settings does not restart, it only stops the server. Manual start is then required. - I've noticed one time that all of "my apps" disappeared but then reappeared with a later restart for unknown reason. - TuneIn radio works even if server is not running. This seems odd, but using TuneIn is a recent activity for me so perhaps this is normal. - The following "new" plugins were installed: CD Player: DSD Player; Group Players; Music and Artist Information; Music Information Screen; Radio Paradise. - Regards the above Music and Artist Info plugin, after seeing some unwanted scanning and downloading behavior i deselected all "importer settings". - Following the problems I also installed the prevent system standby plugin, configured to prohibit standby. - I installed and subsequently uninstalled other plugins of interest that were not essential and uninstalled a number of older unused ones in trying to clean up things a bit. - This morning I installed 7.9.2 over the top of itself. The server seemed to start up much more quickly after this, but I've observed no change in random shut downs or scanning on start (which are my 2 biggest issues as a user). I've considered an uninstall while keeping my old preferences, or possibly a full uninstall then reinstall, but perhaps smarter minds than me will see something obvious and simple to address in the logs attached. Also perhaps my issues will be useful in developing LMS 8.0. Full scanner log is attached, it seems strangely brief and shows only a small window of time yesterday despite two complete "clear and rescan everything" and numerous unprompted scans for "new and changed" since installing 7.9.2. Server log is attached in two parts. First "beginning with old 7.7.5 and change to 7.9.2" which includes the period of changeover to 7.9.2 in the late morning 03 14 2020. Second is "server log most recent" which continues where the first log ends and goes up to right now on 03 15 2020. I hope I've done all I should before posting this. Thanks again everyone. +---+ |Filename: server log beginning with previous 7.7.5 and change to 7.9.2.txt| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=29742| +---+ rivrwing's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31626 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111823 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0.0 + Radio
This worked for me, too. Bizarrely, having updated to LMS 8.0.0 two days ago, with everything working, it was only this morning that the "x needs to be updated to a newer version of Logitech Media Server" message appeared on my Squeezebox Radio. Thankfully, a quick Google search found this page, and the solution worked perfectly first time on both devices. It's a shame it's not easier to discover new major releases of piCorePlayer and LMS. LMS 8.0.0 appears to have been released extremely stealthily. That said, I'd been wondring why my LMS system had not given me any update notifications for a few weeks. And, of course, let's point out how brilliant it is that my Squeezebox Radios are still going 10 years on from first buying them. In fact, arguably, they're now working even better than they were when new, given the brilliant support our volunteer army provides. :D AlecSp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42763 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111777 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Squeezelite is the player. As I see it the VST plugin is the GUI to set up and control the lineariser behaviour. The Virtual cable is way the audio stream gets processed and delivered to an output device - the VST controls the behaviour of the processing. I doubt if anyone will develop a VST host plugin API that provide an GUI within LMS - the Windows users will use an existing DAW bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111821 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

So I assume to get the update one needs to be running an LMS version pre 8.0.0? *Server - LMS 8.0.0 *Pi4B 4GB/Flirc case/pCP 6.0.0 18K library, playlists & LMS cache on SSD (ntfs) *Study -* Pi3B+/pCP 5.0.0/pi screen/HiFiBerry DAC+/jivelite, *Lounge* - Pi2/pCP 5.0.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > AudioEngine DAC1 > AVI DM5 *Dining Room* - Squeezebox Boom *Garage* - Squeezebox Touch > Edifier R980T *Spares* - 1xTouch, 1xSB3, 1xRadio, 7xRPi kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111777 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

The "Lineariser" seems to come in various flavors, of which one: STANDALONE, does reference the VB Cable. The VST plug in...Im not sure. Thanks for investigating! Best Regards, Curt Life is precious. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Adding HEDD Lineariser Plug In to LMS
AFAICT From Installation manual, it is a not VLC plugin but is using Virtual Cable which is part if Windows audio subsystem (i.e. audio output from a media player is redirected into a virtual cable where HEDD does ti s stuff before output to a real output device). If I'm coirrect, this means it is nothing to do with LMS or LMSplugins - it is for "audio renderers" only. It is only useful for something like Squeezelite on Windows and Squeezelite selects to output to the Virtual cable. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111821 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Paul, Thanks for posting the Link. I'm confident one of you knows how to make this function with LMS. Thanks all! Life is precious. Celebrate every day! I use Windows 10. I can see my Qnap in the Explorer. When I click Network\\QnapNas\Multimedia\Music (or any subfolder) and Properties, I can see that there is full acces for every owner (I have 3). When I click Advanced I can see that this permission is for 'only this folder' so I changed this (for each owner) to 'this folder, subfolders and files'. But afterwards it is not changed!? Should I also click the button 'Inheritance' and mark the box 'Replace all child objects...'? Or perhaps I should only do this with my playlist folder? *Storage* - QNAP TS269pro *Server* - LMS 7.9.1 - Raspberry Pi3 - piCorePlayer v3.21 *Living *- Receiver/Duet - Dynaudio Xeo 5 *Kitchen *- Squeezebox Radio *Bathroom *- Squeezebox Radio *Study *- Receiver/Duet - Yamaha Pianocraft RXE-600 dej...@kraanendejong.nl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64803 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111814 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Adding HEDD Lineariser Plug In to LMS
In this case "plugin" is generic rather than LMS specific. eg using VST https://www.hedd.audio/en/hedd-lineariser/ Looks like it is Windows or MAC only and can be run as a plugin to vlc One of the transcode command line experts here might be able to figure it out.
