Yes I'm running LMS 7.9.2. on Lubuntu. I don't want to play music from
online sources, so I guess 7.9.2. is all that I need.
The latest version of Squeezelite-X seems to be working OK so far, so
fingers crossed

For what it is worth, I experience no problems with the combination of
LMS 8.1.1 released (or LMS 8.1.2 nightly) on Lubuntu with
squeezelite-1.9.8-1323-win64 running on Windows 10.
I assume that you are still running LMS 7.9.2? The error messages that
you show, are these generated by squeezelite in its command line window?
When I start squeezelite on Windows 10 by double clicking the
executable, I don't get any error messages.

As long as you only want to play local audio files it is probably OK to
stick with LMS 7.9.2. But when you want to play audio from Online Music
services like TIDAL or play https internet radio streams, you will need
to update to LMS 8.1.1.

I tried to get LMS 8.2.0 nightly working under Fedora 33 without any
luck. I managed to get it running as a service, but only after applying
the following code:

Code:

ln -s /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/Slim /usr/lib64/perl5/Slim

Then I tried to connect to the web gui but that failed.

I also tried to compile the CPAN modules and copy them to the
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/arch/5.32/ directory but apparently
that's not needed anymore according to David's message.

Any suggestions?

Actually I don't know what to to with:

> Update buildme.sh script

Can someone explain that to me?

Thanks!
Hans.

So I just tried Squeezelite-X for the first time in a while and, after
triggering alot of "Illegal memory access" type errors the first time I

as others have said Squeezelite should work. Try the Squeezelite-X

Squeezelite really should work.
What was the version number of the most recent that you tried?
Could you try via Squeezelite-X (it is still Squeezelite underneath but
is a modern one) - available from Windows Store.

Otherwise you could try SqueezePlay

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Stream to Windows 10 renderer from LMS on Linux?

2021-01-15 Thread itm

I'd like to render LMS mp3 streams to my Windows 10 desktop (from my
Linux-based LMS server). I've tried Squeezelite but it prematurely skips
to the next track all the time, and I gave up trying to fix it.

I've just read that it is possible to stream from LMS to a web browser
using a local URL - e.g. http://192.168.1.*1:9000/stream.mp3

I've just tried this and there seems to be a very long lag (maybe 1
minute?) between requesting playback on the LMS web GUI and playback on
the browser. I also can't get skip/pause controls to work that way
either.

Can anyone recommend a good way of streaming to a Windows 10 renderer in
a way which can be controlled fully from the LMS web GUI?

Check permissions and owner of the "missing" files. Directories holdign
the missing files also need to be searchable by LMS (i.e. have "x"
permission for LMS user id - often "others") for LMS to finds files in a
directory.

Just in case there are other issues with m4a/mp4 - you should also
provide info on LMS version.

The INDEX 01 description seems to match what Nov?Dec fix was about.

When checking the Nov/Dec fix, my tests were done with CUE files which
had a file per track.
Other tests were done with cue files which had one file and multiple
tracks.
vc01 cue file has two files and multiple tracks. I don't know if this
format variation was considered or tested.
How are these cue files generated so test files can be created ?

The "cur" filetype was a symptom of the Nov/Dec problem - badly
processed track had a the "cur" filetype which I think is "internal" to
LMS.

My understanding, when parsing an non cue playlist, LMS create a track
entry database for each real file.
IIRC when parsing a cue files, LMS creates a virtual track entry for
each track - referencing the most recent flac/WAv source files with the
offset & duration of the track.

Since 7 tracks are created, it looks like LMS manages the first "FILE"
correctly and may have assumed it is a "single " source CUE files and so
processing of remaining tracks breaks down.

A comment on the original pull request may notify the author of multi
source processing of the issue -
