Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Install Logitech Media Centre on Synology NAS
Given the number of current threads concerning Synology NAS would it be an idea to post a “sticky” post outlining the current situation and user options - Pi, Docker etc? Definitely. I at some point started collecting screenshots and info for the Docker case. But then somebody else posted the instructions already. And now I can't find that posting any more :-). Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] RPi/Picoreplayer IP question
If I use a VPN on my PC that holds the LMS server, is that the IP that Tidal will see when I stream via my RPi? Reason for asking is my Tidal account was created in another country and I'd prefer not to relocate it to UK and have to pay a great deal more. This doesn't really matter AFAIK. I've always been using them with accounts from various countries (Norway, Poland, US) to test the integration. I don't think they enforce any kind of geo blocking. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] NAS Disk Mount error......media folders empty
OK; I think I found the issue: I have recently changed my NAS password to a more complex password by using special characters. Looking in the boot record I found that it took the last few characters of my password into the "options " field ; xxx,uid=1001,gid=50,vers=3.0 To be able to use special characters in this field you have to install a special extension: cifs-utils.tcz After I installed this extension a reboot went flawless and had no disk mount failure anymore. I'll check if this worked with the next "nightly". But I think this was the problem. So far: thx for all the help. brewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69925 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115935 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

This doesn't make sense. I have a number of pCP/LMS installs that connect to a NAS albeit a QNAP - they all work perfectly and the mount is always there as long as the NAS is up when the pCP boots. I wonder if you could get away with raspberry pi 3b/3b+ which I seen on eBay.co.uk? Although rpi4 is definitely recommended I doubt rpi3 will be slower then you DS214play. But yeah £200 rpi4 is bonkers.. it would make more sense getting new NAS capable of running docker and keeping ds214play as purely backup for new NAS 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115974 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hi Paul You said in your first post that you have a couple of rpi, just pop LMS on one of those :) ronnie Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115511 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Install Logitech Media Centre on Synology NAS
Hi, I wonder if you can help me. I have been happily running LMS 8.1.1-1610364020 (pinkdot) on my Synology DS214play under DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 3. I avoided the Pearl update so it continued to work. Unfortunately after I added a new plugin, ShairTunes2 (fork), it crashed and would not restart. I SSH'd into the NAS and browsed the LMS plugin folder but could not find it to remove so I uninstalled LMS. Docker is not a solution for the 214play but fortunately I had saved the LMS installer and had version "LogitechMediaServer-i686-8.1.1-1610364019.spk". I tried to manually re-install it but I got an error message that it was not compatible. I also had version "LogitechMediaServer-i686-8.0.0-1605892076.spk" and tried that and it installed and runs fine. I wonder if Synology have put something in the DSM updates to prevent installation as it was previously on a slightly lower version when I last updated. So my questions: 1. What is the latest version of LMS that will run on DSM6.2.4 and where might I be able to get it? 2. Secondly, are there anything tricks I can do to get the 8.1.1 installer I have to run anyway?
