Is it realy Windows? LMS 7.9.1 works fine with repository.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] 7.9.3 and 8.0 "fade out time" Parameter?

2020-09-05 Thread Aki7

after some more testing the issue seems not to be fixed on Raspberry
ZeroW.

- "Full size" Raspberrys are ok, tested with 3b, 3b+
- ZeroW (most of my players are ZeroW) all fails:

After Soft power off the GPIO goes to "off", but comes "on" again after
some ms. Seems to be a timing problem, which is solved for normal sized
Raspberrys.
Tested with pCP 6.1 and LMS 7.9.3. The same after player reboot or hard
power off-on.

Workaround: "Pause" first, then "Power off"

Maybe: The issue comes up after LMS and Pi are playing for some time
(over night, with a full rescan at night). A fresh restart of LMS and pi
doesnt show the issue. (Have to check this again, but all players are on
6.1 now and i have testet their behavior ok after finished setup).
Otherwise it would be too simple to fix :)

just tested with the actual pCP 6.1 (Squeezelite v1.9.7-1270-pCP). All
fine. Thank you very much for your help, just donated :-)

Now i have to test ir-remote and sbpd with pCP 6.1.

Maybe interesting: 7.9.1 shows neither the repository crash of 7.9.2 nor
the repository error messages of 7.9.3/8.0

2020-08-25 Thread Aki7

Ok, my piCorePlayers Version:

piCorePlayer 4.1.0
Squeezelite v1.9.0-1121-pCP

too old?

The newer piCorePlayer versions had/have(?) trouble with the combination
of ir-remote (LIRC) and a rotary encoder/button tool (sbpd).

Just tested 7.9.1 - No Problems with repositories-crash (?!) or
soft-off. Maybe my workaround for today.

It's done on the web interface of PiCoreplayer: Squeezlite Setiings -
Power On/Off GPIO.

Had some google'ing this morning for a working power-down script, but no
luck. Only found started "projects" without end or dead links.
Same on my first tries on a shell script (i am a Windows guy) - given
up. This would be a too long way for me.

7.9.3 fades out on "pause" and "soft-off"
Soft-off: The GPIO toggles to "off" and toggles back to "on" during the
fade out

7.9.2 "cuts" the sound off
Soft-off: GPIO toggles to "off"

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] 7.9.3 and 8.0 "fade out time" Parameter?

Hi Michael,

7.9.2 (fine): was the non-nightly :
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1575296326 @ Mon Dec 2 15:38:15
WEST 2019
(and all possibly proposed Updates of 7.9.2)

7.9.3 (bug): all testet nightly Versions and the yesterday proposed
Upgrade from 7.9.2 to 7.9.3, which is currently running:
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.3 - 1597753178 @ Sun Aug 23 19:15:28
WEDT 2020

i have reproduced the bug on other clean test installs. 7.9.2 is fine
(but crashes with the repository issue) - 7.9.3 breaks the piCorePlayer
Power Off GPIO (in all possible player settings concerning the fading).

The *changelog of 7.9.3* mentioned some changes on fading behavior:

"*Allow fade-in for squeezeplay client that don't handle it locally when
< 1s* (thanks philippe44!)"

maybe this "fix" needs some more testing :-) The old (buggy) behavior of
the fading would save me.

On my Setup still alive :-) :

[20-08-25 10:43:53.7609] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server

Failed to fetch https://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml:
Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor

Anyway - no more crashes with 7.9.3.

Downside of 7.9.3 is, that it breaks piCorePlayers "Power On/Off GPIO".
The new "Sound fade out" on "Soft Power off" and "pause" switches my
Amps back on.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] 7.9.3 and 8.0 "fade out time" Parameter?

2020-08-24 Thread Aki7

Yes, this will be my next step - my first attempt in scripting on
piCorePlayer =:-)

I think the new "fade out" will break all piCoreplayers using the "Set
GPIO on Power Off" feature.

So it would be nice to keep this feature for Ver. 8.0, maybe with a
switch to set it off.

7.9.3 shoud be fixed at this point ;-)

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] 7.9.3 and 8.0 "fade out time" Parameter?

2020-08-22 Thread Aki7

Hi,

at first many thanks for your great software. There has been some work
on the buggy fading behavior since 7.9.2.

Seems, there is a automatic "fade out on pause" since 7.9.3 - very nice
feature but:

My piCoreplayers, switching off the Amps on "soft power off" via GPIO.
The fading out play commands power-on the Amp again.

Is there any *Paramter* to set this "*fade out time*" to 0 or disable
it? (There is a "fade in time" in the player settings but cannot find
"fade out time").

Otherwise i have to go back to 7.9.2

Thanks
Aki

p.s.: Just testet 7.9.2 - no fade out.
