[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS uses up 100% of CPU on RPi 4, web interface very slow or not responding at all
Suddenly my LMS 8.2.0 (on a dedicated RPi4 with USB disk) has started responding very slowly or not at all, and the squeezeboxserver process is taking 100% of CPU. The only error messages in server.log seem to be a number of these (in bursts, not all the time): Code: [22-03-30 14:35:43.0847] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::Players::_players_error (377) Unable to get players from SN: Connect timed out: Inappropriate ioctl for device, retrying in 31190400 seconds There are also these occasionally: Code: [22-03-30 14:32:28.0161] Slim::Networking::Repositories::__ANON__ (147) Failed to fetch https://github.com/LMS-Community/lms-plugin-repository/raw/master/extensions.xml: Couldn't resolve IP address for: github.com but when I test (with ping), github.com resolves just fine. Any ideas? Sounds like something odd with the network stack. "To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard. I totally agree with your sentiments about systemd, but it does look like it will be increasingly hard to keep Ubuntu systemd-free going forward. :( "To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard. I, for one, feel a web-based interface is the way to go. No need for a separate "app" for everything, and with HTML5 and modern web tools, the UI can be as good as with a separate app - but with the benefit of running on anything that supports a modern browser.
