Michael Thanks Michael, I am obviously aware of the lack of .xml support. I thought I did a good job job of explaining that I was able to use the workarounds to get my entire music library and LMS working great. I just simply had the issue that I was not able to recover playlists, regardless of any of the suggested workarounds. What I ended up doing was installing iTunes into Catalina based on the suggestion earlier in the thread. This 'hack' script, for lack of a better word, allowed my to install iTunes in Catalina. I am now running both the Music app and also iTunes. I have pointed LMS to the 'new' itunes .xml file and everything is working great. Not ideal to have both the Music database file and the itunes xml file, but want to see the results over a short period of time. crazybake's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7472 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111037 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Thanks Michael - should have started with that. My original setup was LMS on a Mac Mini running OSX High Sierra. The Music media is stored on a external drive. I was using iTunes for music management, playlists, etc. This has been working well for years, and has not changed until the issue with Catalina. Even then, I have not completed any fresh installs, only updates. I have never had any issues at all until the OSX Update. I was able to use this forum to enable both Sh and Bash and my media library is now intact, except for playlists - which list the names, but do not have any tracks. One note of emphasis - which may be causing the issue. Because I have changed so many file paths for playlists in attempt to fix the issue, I do not have record of my original settings of where playlists should be located. mherger wrote: > >>> Export playlists from where? I attempted to export the playlists manually as both M3U and XML files directly from the iTunes menu and into a different folder. I then tried to direct LMS playlist setting to that folder. The names of the playlists appear in the menu -but no tracks listed crazybake's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7472 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111037 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

mherger wrote: > > Check the scanner.log for any hint about the failure to scan. I have checked the scanner log and there are no errors. I'm not sure I have pointed LMS to the proper playlist location (post Catalina). I even tried to export my playlists, put them into a different directory and point LMS to that with no luck. The scanner log simply states it processed. The most recent attempt was to use the LMS OS X System Preference and point the playlist folder to Music/iTunes/iTunes Media and I check the box that states "use iTunes". I have tried both checking the box and not checking the box. I have tried to rescan only playlists and also new and changed music. The log just doesn't show any errors. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS on MacOS 10.15 "Catalina"?
Thanks to all who have posted here. I upgraded to Catalina and experienced the issues addressed. I followed the steps and most everything is well... except my playlists. No matter which directory I guide LMS to, it will come back with the playlist names, but all are empty. Any guidance on the recommended way to use playlists under Catalina? crazybake's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7472 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111037 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Apple Music AAC
After checking the file types they are indeed M4P files. Thus, the LMS does not even 'see' them. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Apple Music AAC
I have been trying to follow and install various plugins, but realizing I may have missed the boat... I have had my Squeezebox three for a number of years, but I have recently subscribed to Apple Music and some of the files have been replaced with Apple Music AAC files. I was hoping not to have to do any conversions of files (or go back to my backup), but have noticed that the LMS 7.9 (Mac OS X 10.12.2) does not recognize these files when scanning my iTunes Library... Is there any info, docs, etc.. on this? Or links to other threads on this subject. Just not sure how to proceed. Thanks and I apologize if this has been addressed 1000 times, I just cannot find the right right info to move forward crazybake's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7472 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107060 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
