When i'm playing a radio stream that does not contain cover art i get a universal picture of a transmitting mast. I totally agree on the fast roaming not to be liked bij SB. I'm using ubiquiti stuff but when I enable fast roaming I've got a problem with SB. Ended up to create a seperate 2.4 SSID just for all the SB stuff (totally 11, mix of almost everything that has been made over the years since 2006) where fast roaming is disabled. I would suggest pcp on pi and lms on your Linux server. Or buy a second pi with dac. Put lms on pi without dac and point to music and use pi with dac as player. Both running pcp. Easiest way is to purchase a raspberry pi and install picoreplayer and than lms on that. I guess the kitchen boom is trying to resync and the other devices are waiting on this. I had similar behavior when I used a player via ethernet-over-power adapters. I noticed a while back some time drift (not exactly hours, more minutes) Solution was to do a scheduled time server resync. This sounds like a silly question but hear this out. I'm using a touch to drive an active teufel 2.0 speaker set and there is only one speaker that has the controls. You guessed it, wrong side of desk :) I could switch the speaker but that also means my stereo sound is screwed :( Solution would be to swap left and right channel. Only thing i found was stereo /left /right in audio settings of the touch player. Anyone aware of a solution? Funny thing is when I use the original tunein radio android app the stream has hick Ups, mostly in the afternoon while when using radiodroid at the same moment there is no problem. Are the players synchronized? If so than one single player can ruin your party. Also your surrounding environment can give you problems with wifi. A single home with no neighbors is something else than a home in a city. Did you change anything in the network like a switch, router, wifi etc? Yes, that's absolute possible. I even think it's the preferred setup. I've got a pi3 running with only lms laying around in the closet where all the wiring and electricity is situated. This one should be connected via a network cable. You might consider to power this one via a Ups to avoid sd card corruption when power fails. For the players I got a mix of pi, pi3, pi zero, an original boom, radio, transporter and SB2. Sorry to say, but powerline is not as reliable as wired. If I had to make a choice between powerline or wifi I would choose wifi. Remember that as of W7 the real administrator is disabled by default. So to be really able to run an installer as admin you have to enabke the admin and use that account. As far as i understood the pasword protection on setup->advanced is protecting entire LMS for using (perhaps im wrong then please correct). I'm looking for a way to protect the setup part where all the setting are located. Preventing setup accident's from other users. Fair enough. Got similar experiences, also once a brand new patch cable which was faulty. Allright perhaps I was a bit short in explanation. If the SB is connected via wifi then a solution would be to place wifi on a scheduled base. So wifi is only working from day 10 AM until 15.00 pm. A lot of sb's are connected via wifi and if one thing is critical in a good working SB environment than it is a good working network (cable or wifi). One brand that provides good wifi is ubiquiti and it has also that capability of making a schedule. So using ubiquiti would give you a solution for OP question and also provides good wifi and so avoid network related problems with lms. Assuming the cabled part of router and switch is also in good condition and proper configurated. Test one by one and start with local lan via network cable and only lms. Then power up one squeezebox and test with local music. Then try wifi the same way. If that all works then try mysqueezebox.com and spotty. Remember, step by step. In my case where a single SB did well but as soon as I added a second trying to sync with first one and after 30ish second the whole bunch started to resync. Finally it appeared that somehow my windows server where the local music is stored kicked lms outside. Use wifi and schedule the wifi SSID of the kids? Static IP addresses should always be outside the dhcp scope! Alternative is to use a feature like IP bind to make sure a device always gets the same IP. Disadvantage by uses this feature is that if you change router you have to make sure to copie entire IP bind table. When is use squeeze control and look at a boom I've got advanced settings and there is a section audio in which you've got bass treble adjustments. Pretty easy to chance if there is a need for.
