I figured out how I can install the Denon AVP Plugin with mostly the graphical interface of Ubuntu 18.04. This will certainly also work for other plugins that can no longer be found in the online repositories:
Before installing the LMS onto a blank system I created a new user "squeezeboxserver" in the Ubuntu Settings-Details-Users section and assigned a password. I then switched to the just generated user and installed the logitech media server according to this guide: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Debian_Package Thereafter I pulled the plugin from the google archive: https://storage.googleapis.com/google-code-archive-downloads/v2/code.google.com/denonavpcontrol/DenonAvpControl_1_9_2.zip I was now able to unzip, extract the whole folder to the path "/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/Plugins". After a restart of the LMS "sudo service logitechmediaserver stop", "sudo service logitechmediaserver start" the plugin showed up as active in the LMS web interface settings "Plugins" tab. I could now safely return to my default Ubuntu user. LMS and the plugin will automatically start up after a re-boot, logging in to the "squeezeboxserver" account is not necessary. I hope this will help other noobs that run into the same problem. I will re-post my finding in the "Manually installing plugin zips" thread. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ squeezehouse's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67065 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108414 _______________________________________________ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
