Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02
Got it, bootstrap.pm@131 I like to keep things tidy in the runtime environment to make it easier to prevent this type of (mostly DynaLoader) version conflicts though, so I'll let the installer combine them. gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109894 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02
Right. That appears to have been the culprit. There's an Audio::Scan module in the unexpected `lib` folder that relies on version 0.99/0.93/0.95/0.92 (in order, if I noted correctly before deleting it and restoring OS based install). I gather the `lib` folder takes preference over `CPAN`, so for a live install I can delete every corresponding file in that folder (or simply overwrite everything in `CPAN` with the content of `lib`)? gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109894 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02
Same as the 0.93 files: - /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.30.3/armv5tel-linux-thread-multi/Audio/Scan.pm - /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.30.3/armv5tel-linux-thread-multi/auto/Audio/Scan/Scan.so Oh... Hold on. Just noticing that LMS 8 introduces a secondary CPAN folder named `lib` that also contains a version of Scan.pm. That's pretty confusing to say the least. gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109894 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02
I'm on Gentoo. Everything is source built on the machine itself. Then you should make sure that you use both Scan.pm as well as Scan.so out of that source build (applies to all Perl modules). If Scan.pm is taken from the tarball, then there could be conflicts. Search your installation for any Audio/Scan.pm file. Where would they be stored? -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Necro-posting this old thread. I'm in the progress of upgrading from 7.8 to 8.0 and am seeing this exact same issue of `_scan` method not existing in Audio::Scan 1.02 and the database being completely empty (although it does grow in size). I downgraded this module to 0.93 and now I'm seeing artists etc. re-appear. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02
Hi, just checked the latest 7.9.2 nightly build for X86_64/amd64, the new 1.02 audio scan perl module is only contained for perl 5.28,.. not for the other perl versions, on ubuntu trusty 14.04 with perl 5.18 there is still 0.95 version used,.. but it compiles OK if you clone https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor.git and build it with ./buildme.sh Audio::Scan and have zlib1g and zlib1g-dev installed,.. than push from the build dir: Scan.pm > /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/lib/Audio/Scan.pm and Scan.so > /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/arch/5.18/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/Audio/Scan/Scan.so seems to run here with no problems or visible complaints in the scanner log, best wishes pbg4 pbg4's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62543 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109894 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

>From the source file Code: 1.02 - Opus: song_length_ms and bitrate_average were not always scanned properly 1.012018-07-09 - Added Opus codec support. (Jeff Muizelaar) - ADTS: RT #124525, fixed incorrect duration calcuation due to off-by-one error in frame counter. - Added missing license meta name. (manwar) 1.002018-04-21 - Fixed parsing of DSF files with more than 2 channels. 0.992017-11-24 - Fixed a bug where an incorrect audio offset was returned when using NO_ARTWORK and reading a file with an ID3v2.2 or v2.3 unsynchronization bit set. The artwork in this type of file is only available when scanning in normal mode (without NO_ARTWORK). - Added id3_was_unsynced => 1 to the info section for v2.2/v2.3 files with the whole-tag unsync bit set. This type of tag is generally harmful to parser performance, so this flag might be useful if you want to find and upgrade this type of tag to v2.4. - DSF: WAV_BLOCK_SIZE was being used instead of DSF_BLOCK_SIZE. (Kimmo Taskinen) - DSF/DFF: added bitrate to info hash. 0.982017-04-28 - RT #119101, stop including MYMETA files in the tarball. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109894 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02
I think the latest version of Audio Scan is 1.02 but the version on my system running 7.9.2 from November 26th is still 0.9.5. Do I need the latest version and of so how do I update? What platform are you on? I haven't updated them all. If you were adventurous you could download https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/7.9/CPAN and run "./buildme.sh Audio::Scan" -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
