Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Library Problem
I use dbpoweramp for tagging, and Tag & Rename as well. Tag & Rename is very powerful, it lets you rename the file based upon track tags and vice versa. Also has a good text substitute feature which I have found to be very helpful. I have run into the same issue that you have where an artist listing appears in an alphabetical location. It usually is due to the an error in one of the sorting artist fields in a compilation CD, or not checking off the 'compilation' tag. I use 'Various Artists' for the album artist name in compilations, although I know that many prefer to leave it blank. stereoptic's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53162 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108415 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

That was a great help! I was not aware of the extended tags. A coulpe of quick follow ups though. Is it best to have the Artist Album Sort tag blank or populated? Also, is there a tag editing program for windows that you would recommend? bitterroots's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67665 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108415 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Library Problem
Hi 1st of all i do hate mp3tag for a good reason Check your screenshoot youre using more than one tag type - in one of them in a single file you had a tag albumartistsort or artistsort that causes your sorting problem. Mp3Tag didnt show all tags even under extended tags. Eg - copy some album / Folder to a separate destination - grab that album / Folder with mp3tag and select all files - make sure you have select 2delete idv2 and timestamps not touched - use a commandline tagger and remove all eg idv2 tags and go back to your mp3tag Windows and click on the save button. - use a md5 checksumm tool to check both versions you would expect that there is no difference between the two versions - but there is one. And thats the reason why i dont like mp3tag. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Library Problem
I have been using Logitech Media Server for a while now. Currently, I am running 7.9.1 on FreeNAS. For as long as I can remember, I have been having an issue though. I am very diligent about my tags and use Mp3Tag for editing. I use "Album Artist" as mainly, but "Artist" as well. My issue, is that there is a point (right about in the middle of Album Artists) that the sorting goes haywire. The list goes from Kravitz to U2, random artists, and then finally to Lennon. It appears to think that these random artists begin with "L". I have attached some examples. Also, I have compared tags to each other and there does not appear to be any differences. 24214 24215 24216 24217 +---+ |Filename: MP3Tag.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24217| +---+ bitterroots's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67665 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108415 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
