It should be in already. It's what triggered a new nightly build.

What versions would sox and flac be? Should be SoX v14.4.2, and flac 1.3.2.

There was at least one update to Flac. IIRC to ignore length of WAV
headers to handle internet streams. I think this change was submiited
to Flac maintaniners - don't know if it was adopted.

Lookin at slimserver vendor dir - shows 2 other patches

There's one specific update to sox that is useful for the C-3PO plugin.

I seem to recall issues around faad some time ago that may have required
LMS patches, but I'd be surprised if flac or sox needed LMS patches.

I certainly don't want to get into building LMS myself, so I guess I'll
have to remember to replace sox each time. That requires memory cells
that are rapidly diminishing, but I'll have to try...

Those folders are owned by the installation, so no. You could run your
installation from git, then you can pick what to update.

Ive update these for PCP, the old LMS patches aren’t needed anymore, but
there is a couple new patches needed for the lates versions. Michael
has been working on doing an update, but it’s proving to be difficult to
make sure the binaries run on all platforms.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Prevent different versions of sox, flac etc being overwritten on update

If I put updated versions of sox, flac etc in
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Bin/x86_64-linux they get overwritten with
very old versions (from 2009) when I next update LMS.

Is there any way round this so that I can keep the updated versions when
I update LMS?
