Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Switching to LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64
By the looks of it, I haven't heard the last of permissions just yet. 1. But first things first: > digimaster only forgot the 755 in the first chmod command. > Thanks karlek you`re so right. > it`s chmod -R 0775 (directoryname) So glad I'm not the only one getting confused by it. :) But to get this right: Here: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer I did this Code: chmod -R 0775 SlimServer/ 0775 and not 0755, right? 2. When I copy a file from my windows system to the NAS share, it has different permissions and is invisible for squeezeboxserver. /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/Multimedia/Music Here I did this yesterday, as suggested: Code: chmod -R 0775 . All files have the permissions 0775 now. Furthermore, they are owned by me and are in the group administrators. Now I copy a folder from my windows system to that location. It automatically gets the permissions 0770. It is owned by me and is in the group everyone. Also, I'm with karlek here, that LMS should only get write access on the playlist folders. How to I copy to the share without having to alter the permissions afterwards every time? And to show off my confusion even more: In QNAP's ControlPanel there's a setting "Edit Shared Folder Permissions". Are these the same permissions set my chmod? My user and the admin user have RW access, one user is denied access. I'm sorry, I'm a scientist, not a doctor, Jim... dolodobendan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67663 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108420 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Try the Help button to understand, what disabled means, maybe? You did well. Its all about permissions. But LMS should only need write access on your playlist folders. karlek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64321 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108420 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hello digimaster, thank you for your help! > Do logon to you`re Qnap by ssh shell, do [ cd > /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaSever ] and then [ chown -R squeezeboxserver > SlimServer/ ] and then [ chmod -R SlimServer/ ]. Code: chown -R squeezeboxserver SlimServer/ That worked. Code: chmod -R SlimServer/ That did not: Code: [/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/LogitechMediaServer] # chmod -R SlimServer/ BusyBox v1.24.1 (2017-12-13 02:40:30 CST) multi-call binary. Usage: chmod [-Rcvf] MODE[,MODE]... FILE... Each MODE is one or more of the letters ugoa, one of the symbols +-= and one or more of the letters rwxst -R Recurse -c List changed files -v List all files -f Hide errors > Then do [ cd (to the root directorys where you music directorys are ), > for example [ cd /share/*/Multimedia ] and do [ chmod -R 0775 . ] Here I used WinSCP to set the permissions. dolodobendan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67663 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108420 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Switching to LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64
If you copied some directory`s from you old LogitechMediaServer. Do logon to you`re Qnap by ssh shell, do [ cd /share/*/.qpkg/LogitechMediaSever ] and then [ chown -R squeezeboxserver SlimServer/ ] and then [ chmod -R SlimServer/ ]. Then do [ cd (to the root directorys where you music directorys are ), for example [ cd /share/*/Multimedia ] and do [ chmod -R 0775 . ] Then restart youre LogitechMediaServer through the appstore. The problem with some old LogitechMediaServer solutions SSOTS/SSODS, they where started with admin/root owner right`s. And that should never be done, as is explained on the website of LogitechMediaSever, so it can not corrupted you`re nas file system. Still not working, then the old prefs are corrupted, and you should remove the SlimServer/Cache directory. dolodobendan wrote: > Hello! > > I'm pretty bored because I'm home ill, so I decided to switch to > digimaster's LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 and look for problems > on my way there. > > > > > - I copied server.prefs and favorites.opml as suggested - I removed the old LMS installation - I decided not to import the old preferences and configure from > scratch - I installed "LogitechMediaServer-Qnap-x86_64-version1.01a" > > > > > The WebUI started and everything. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Switching to LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64
Hello! I'm pretty bored because I'm home ill, so I decided to switch to digimaster's LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 and look for problems on my way there. - I copied server.prefs and favorites.opml as suggested - I removed the old LMS installation - I decided not to import the old preferences and configure from scratch - I installed "LogitechMediaServer-Qnap-x86_64-version1.01a" The WebUI started and everything. The wizard asked to to enter music and playlist folders. Now the first problem: I couldn't chose the path I wanted, so I just used /share/Recordings for the time being. Now I'm in "Basic Settings" and I want to select the correct path. That would be /share/Multimedia/Music. However, I'm stuck at /share/Multimedia, the subfolder "Music" is not displayed. Manually entering the path is not working either, the path is being reset to the last working one. Why isn't it working? With "the old" 7.9.1 it worked just fine just a few minutes ago. dolodobendan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67663 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108420 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
