Just checked... I'm using Google *and* Cloudflare, and my router chose
Google. So Google DNS (over TLS) directed me to the US data center.

The reply from 8.8.8.8 is varying with each call, but all IP addresses
are located in Ireland. So the TLS variant seems to send out different

I switched DNS now to a server that resolves to the European data
centers (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1), and, good news: the TIDAL app seems to be
working!

If you need support figuring out the issues with the US data center, I
know now how to switch data centers...

could also explain that in the last days on one day TIDAL was working
right away as it should on one device, and later again it didn't...
Maybe at this point I was directed to the European servers.

where you're running LMS?


Is something about your network setup special? Are you using a VPN, or 
some particular DNS? After a bunch of reports about Apps missing from 
LMS I came to the conclusion that most, or almost all users seem to be 
in the US - except you! I wonder whether you're hitting the US 
datacenter for whatever reason.

Well, I haven't been using mysqueezebox.com for a very long time until I
had to use it again to get the TIDAL token. And the token retrieval
works (see previous post). Except for some hickups from time to time
(like the boot issue above for the SB Receiver, which may also be aging
hardware) everything worked fine with the local LMS.

I did some further experiments and uploaded the log files.
network.squeezenetwork and plugin.tidal are set to log level
"Debugging", server is freshly restarted.

First on the SB Receiver with MAC ending e6:44. I didn't restart it as
TIDAL was showing up in the main menu (as it should). I started it, it
connected to the local LMS (fine, but strange, usually it doesn't) and I
could stream 166307039.mp4.

Now, next, the SB Radio with MAC ending 83:40.

I rebooted it, TIDAL showed up in the main menu. I started it and it
connected (as usual) to mysqueezebox.com. There is no log entry for this
in the local LMS log file. I let it connect to mysqueezebox.com, browsed
to same track as above and wanted to stream it and it failed (unknown
file format, as usual). Also no log entry for this in the local LMS.

I connected to my local music archive, went to the same artist (Alicia
Keys in this case), searched "on TIDAL" for the song above and could
stream it. This is visible in the log files. The TIDAL app from the main
menu (and "My Apps") is gone, though.

I hope this helps to bring some more light into this...

Crap... there's no trace of TIDAL in there. And there's also a "next 
player check" delay of 24h. This usually is the case if the user didn't 
have any player or had not been seen in a long time - which is not the 
case for you. I'm a bit lost.

Interesting thing when scanning through the log: in the device list,
there is only one controller listed, although there are two. Is this an
issue?

After the reboot, TIDAL was listed in the Receivers and the Radio. When
accessing it, it immediately wanted to connect to mysqueezebox.com.

Also further information: the device "Receiver WZ" turned off again
immediately after booting when accessing TIDAL, I had to power cycle it
again. I had this problem already a several months ago, but it
disappeared again. So there may be several boot up sequences in the log
for this one.

- connect all players to your LMS
- go to Settings/Advanced/Logging and enable logging for 
network.squeezenetwork

- check the "keep setting at reboot"
- save logging options
- power down _all_ devices
- restart LMS
- power up all devices
- send server.log.zip

After some further debugging and setting up the whole TIDAL setup again,
I got the following behavior:

1. removed TIDAL token in mysqueezebox.com
uninstall/reinstall TIDAL app and connect: I got the request to
authenticate on mysqueezebox.com. -> OK

2. re-added token on mysqueezebox.com again
uninstall/reinstall TIDAL app, started it, worked -> OK

3. switched to my own music and found the search "on TIDAL" option
(nice, haven't noticed this yet)
worked *always* on all players -> OK

4. Removed the "bookmark" app to see what happens in "My Apps"
-> "My Apps" was not updated, "bookmark" app was still listed, no TIDAL
-> Reboot: "bookmark" disappeared, TIDAL appeared

5. Started TIDAL from "My Apps"
-> App connected automatically to "mysqueezebox.com"
-> let it do, returned to home screen aand switched back to local LMS
via "My music"
-> TIDAL app was gone from "My Apps"
-> searching "on TIDAL" via my local collection still works (and plays
music, so routes via the local LMS)

To summarize: the main issue seems to be the central starting point of
the TIDAL app, for whatever reason it focuses on mysqueezebox.com and
switches to it directly after start. Once you switch to
mysqueezebox.com, TIDAL disappears from the local LMS "My Apps" menu.

And also the "My Apps" menus seem to have some problems updating - they
only updated after a reboot of the device.

I hope this helps a bit to narrow down the problem...

This is what I understood, you only need mysqueezebox.com to get the
OAuth token. I never really used mysqueezebox.com anyway, I just
returned there to get the token. The problem is: the few times I was
connected to my local LMS *and* had the TIDAL app in the menu, the
*TIDAL app* requested to connect to mysqueezebox.com. When I allowed it,
it connected to mysqueezebox.com, showed the content but couldn't play
it. I stopped the playing, switched back to my local LMS and then the
TIDAL app was gone. I have seen this behavior now on both Receivers and
the Radio.

I had this scenario, yes, but the devices were in different "reboot
states" - let's best call it like this. Now the behavior is consistent -
TIDAL doesn't show up on all devices when connected to the local LMS (as
usual except for my SB Boom, but here I pinned the TIDAL app in the menu
in the player's LMS server config).

On the Receivers and the Radio, I can get TIDAL to work in this way: I
go the App Gallery, uninstall TIDAL, install it again, accept the link
creation for "My Apps" (which never appears), start the App and can use
it. But as soon as I leave it, e.g. because I switch to radio or some
other non-TIDAL content, I can't get back there, only via the re-install
just described.

And yes, for a short time everything worked (devices connected to local
LMS, TIDAL app in menu), but this is not robust and I don't know how to
get back to this state. This state usually doesn't survive a power
cycle.

Yes, it's active and states "display in main menu". And thanks to your
registration fix, I can now reproducible show the TIDAL app when
switching to mysqueezebox.com, but of course to no avail...

So I suppose the problem now lies in my local LMS installation. The
original config is rather old, I started with some 7.something (may have
been 7.5 or 7.6) and upgraded all the way to 8.1. Could this be an
issue?

Or some debugging on the devices? I have seen in the extended settings
that you can enable SSH (never tried this yet), would this help? And if
yes, where to look?

Short update - all players work sort of consistent now, but still not
right (except for my Boom, where it simply works... ;-).

When I switch the network to mysqueezebox.com, TIDAL appears in "My
Apps", but doesn't work ("unknown file format"). For the "2nd hand SB
receiver" I can now switch the network to mysqueezebox.com (this menu
wasn't visible before, thanks for fixing), but connection to
mysqueezebox.com fails (it works for the other receiver and the Radio).

When I switch back to the local LMS, TIDAL disappears again from "My
Apps".

Hi Michael, thanks a lot. The second receiver is now connecting again to
the local LMS and playing and all players show up under
mysqueezebox.com.

Yet, on the Radio and the second receiver I still have the issue that
TIDAL doesn't appear under "My Apps", it also doesn't appear in the LMS
web interface. On these two players, I have to re-install TIDAL via the
app gallery to access it. On the Radio, it survives a reboot but
automatically connects me to mysqueezebox.com instead of the local LMS.
When I switch back, TIDAL is gone again.

Hello!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or if it would be better in the
dedicated Radio/Duet forums, but it might as well be a server issue...

I'm trying to get TIDAL access up and running, but on Squeezebox Radio
and Receiver the TIDAL app is not showing up under "My Apps". It's
working on a Squeezebox Boom, but here I can fix the TIDAL sub-menu in
the main menu via the server config. TIDAL access in principle is
working (also with AAC streams via conversion) in Boom, Radio and
Receiver, but on Radio and Receiver the only way to start the TIDAL app
is to uninstall it via the "App gallery" menu, re-install it and start
it directly after the "add link" option (which doesn't seem to do
anything). But as soon as you lose the TIDAL screen, you have to go the
same way again, the "My Apps" menu doesn't list TIDAL.

BTW, also on the web interface TIDAL doesn't show up under "My Apps".
And even more strange: after many server and client uninstallations and
installations and reboots I had the TIDAL app in "My Apps" on all
systems, but now it disappeared again.

Any clue how to make this work?

I tried the latest Nightly Build (Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.1 -
1609569900) and am running it on OpenSUSE 15.2. TIDAL plugin is active,
sync to mysqueezebox.com is running, TIDAL account is activated via
mysqueezebox.com. And, as mentioned, in principle it's working, except
for the disappearing TIDAL app.

Any clues? Any log files I should scan to get some more details on
this?
