Got it, bootstrap.pm@131

I like to keep things tidy in the runtime environment to make it easier
to prevent this type of (mostly DynaLoader) version conflicts though, so
I'll let the installer combine them.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02

2020-12-16 Thread gordonb3

Right. That appears to have been the culprit. There's an Audio::Scan
module in the unexpected `lib` folder that relies on version
0.99/0.93/0.95/0.92 (in order, if I noted correctly before deleting it
and restoring OS based install).

I gather the `lib` folder takes preference over `CPAN`, so for a live
install I can delete every corresponding file in that folder (or simply
overwrite everything in `CPAN` with the content of `lib`)?

Same as the 0.93 files:
-
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.30.3/armv5tel-linux-thread-multi/Audio/Scan.pm
-
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.30.3/armv5tel-linux-thread-multi/auto/Audio/Scan/Scan.so

Oh... Hold on. Just noticing that LMS 8 introduces a secondary CPAN
folder named `lib` that also contains a version of Scan.pm. That's
pretty confusing to say the least.

I'm on Gentoo. Everything is source built on the machine itself.

Then you should make sure that you use both Scan.pm as well as Scan.so
out of that source build (applies to all Perl modules). If Scan.pm is
taken from the tarball, then there could be conflicts. Search your
installation for any Audio/Scan.pm file. Where would they be stored?

Working OK here as well although there was a problem with 'Clear library

Using 'Control Panel/Advanced/Cleanup' just to clean cache folder seems
to have fixed it though. So all working now.

I'm seeing the same issue as you with scanner.exe on windows 7.

The reference to Line 75 is from the original lib/audio/Scan.pm

Code:

  my $ret = $class->_scan( $suffix, $fh, $path, $filter, $md5_size || 0,
$md5_offset || 0 );

I think we may need to add 1.02 to the foreach version list at the top
of that file.

Hopefully, Michael will be able to look try adding the 1.02 check and

Hi ralphy, thanks for looking.

Version listed in server settings as: Audio::Scan 1.02

Closer inspection of scanner log displays the following for each track
scanned...

Can't locate object method "_scan" via package "Audio::Scan" at
/Audio/Scan.pm line 75.

As an example for a specific track...
Slim::Formats::readTags (197) Error: While trying to

Ocean Dreams.flac) : Can't locate object method "_scan" via package

I'm not really sure what I'm looking at here but a search on the C:
doesn't find Scan.pm so I can't see what line 75 is about.

The audio scan 1.02 module in the latest lms 8 build produced the same
scan results and the previous 0.95 in my tests. Scan times were about
the same with both versions.

What was the version of audio scan listed on the server settings status

There are only 28 tracks registered in my library - there should be
38000. I have no idea what those 28 tracks are. LMS WebUI shows nothing
in Albums, Artists, Genres, New Music etc. Everything was fine until
Audio Scan 1.02 was introduced.

Total Tracks: 28
Total Albums: 0
Total Artists: 0
Total Genres: 0

I've done all the usual things like clear browser cache, clear LMS
caches etc but still nothings. To make sure scanner.log is clean I
stopped LMS, deleted scanner.log, restarted LMS and saved a zip file -
part of the log is attached. There may be something obvious there but it
means nothing to me :(

Couldn't attach the full log - even zipped it was far to big.

Just double checked: mp3, flac, flac with cue sheet, it's all there.

Premature... seems like @ralphy is right in previous post saying that
flac and mp3 are not registering in the database. My 'clear and scan'
times usually take about 15 minutes to complete - with this Audio Scan
1.02 version it was completed in 3 minutes. I guess no scanning is
really taking place so back to previous LMS version for now. Hopefully
it'll be sorted.

I have v1.02 built with the activestate perl 5.14.2 provided mingw32
compiler but ATM flac and alac files are scanned but not added to the
database.

Hey, is there a docker image available with audio scan 1.02? I want to
play opus files but every docker container i tried so far as 0.95.
And I don't know how to update it from within a docker container.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Audio Scan version 1.02

2018-12-23 Thread pbg4

Hi,

just checked the latest 7.9.2 nightly build for X86_64/amd64, the new
1.02 audio scan perl module is only contained
for perl 5.28,.. not for the other perl versions,

on ubuntu trusty 14.04 with perl 5.18 there is still 0.95 version
used,..

but it compiles OK if you clone
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor.git and build it with
./buildme.sh Audio::Scan
and have zlib1g and zlib1g-dev installed,..

than push from the build dir:

Scan.pm > /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/lib/Audio/Scan.pm
and
Scan.so >
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/arch/5.18/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/auto/Audio/Scan/Scan.so

seems to run here with no problems or visible complaints in the scanner
log,

best wishes pbg4

it's pointless anyway, I won't pursue this any further (on the Pi).

Unfortunately, there is some "libz" missing. I was able to install the
also missing gcc, but I don't know how to get this "libz". I installed

You'll need the dev package in addition to the library itself: zlib-dev
or zlib1g-dev

Would it even work if I compile it on my Pi and copy whatever I get to
my NAS' (Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux / Perl Version: 5.24.4 -

No. Pi is ARM based, not x86. And it would take forever to build,
compared to what the x86_64 would need.

thing is if I hover my mouse over the artwork on the laptop the enlarged
artwork is correct but if I click on the artwork in the now playing pane
of the default skin on my phone the artwork is still rotated.

As I never pass a chance to being adventurous, I tried that.
Unfortunately, there is some "libz" missing. I was able to install the
also missing gcc, but I don't know how to get this "libz". I installed
"zlib1g" but it didn't help.

Would it even work if I compile it on my Pi and copy whatever I get to
my NAS' (Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux / Perl Version: 5.24.4 -
x86_64-linux-thread-multi) LMS?

I don't know of this is related to Audio Scan but the files I scanned
had embedded artwork and in the web UI default skin and my Touch screen
the artwork is rotated 180 degrees. Orange Squeeze and material skin on
my phone display it correctly. [image:

Hmm... I'd be very surprised if that had an impact, as LMS is using a
different module for the resizing. But then if Audio::Scan is the only
thing that changed, it's almost certain... Is this both on the phone?

I never sent you a PR for the perl 5.24 armhf libraries with Audio::Scan
1.02, I only updated the binary package for pCP.

That would be great! Thanks!

I think the latest version of Audio Scan is 1.02 but the version on my
system running 7.9.2 from November 26th is still 0.9.5. Do I need the
latest version and of so how do I update?

What platform are you on? I haven't updated them all.

If you were adventurous you could download
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-vendor/tree/public/7.9/CPAN and
run "./buildme.sh Audio::Scan"
