[squid-users] How to clear old cache

2009-04-01 Thread Nilesh

Hi All,

How do I remove old squid cache?

I have googled for the problem but couldnot get the proper way to delete cache.

Every one said to delete the cache folder and rebuild the cache folder again
with command squid -z.

Our server cache not rebuild from long time, Is there a way to delete only few
months back cache..

or there is way squid can rebuild the cache automatically after a periodic time

Please help

Regards
Nilesh

[squid-users] Request forwarding

2006-03-11 Thread Nilesh
Dear all,

I have two squid proxy servers and two ISP

1) 192.168.0.1 running on port 3128
2) 192.168.0.3 running on port 3128

We have around 70 comps assigned IP’s between
192.168.0.4 to 192.168.0.250
The default proxy we are using is 192.168.0.1 which is
on the ISP 1.
Now I have configured 192.168.0.3 squid proxy server
on ISP 2 line.
Both ISP 1 and ISP 2 are landing (connected) on the
same Switch.

Now I want to setup users from IP range (192.168.0.4
to 192.168.0.50) to use this 192.168.0.1 proxy server
And for others 192.168.0.3. If others from IP range
(192.168.0.50 to 192.168.0.250) are trying to access
192.168.0.1 the request will forward to 192.168.0.3
proxy server.
On all machines I have setup the proxy settings as
192.168.0.1:3128.
I don’t want to change there proxy settings in
browser. The request will invisibly forward to
192.168.0.3.

Please let me know how do I configure squid.

Regards
Nilesh.

performance of squid is not only depend on your operating system and
bandwidth is also depend on your system hardware and OS integration
performance of squid Will be also infected by your acl misconfiguration

Squid wont works with rpm
You have to install squid Source with -enable-linux-netfilter

Hello,

I have attempted to conduct a transparent proxy using squid and a cisco
router according to information in the article
http://www.linux-mag.com/content/view/1957/2303.

It seems to me that the packets are getting redirected by the router but
squid isnt forwarding. Please look thru and advise

Squid runs on Fedora Core 3 and installed via rpm. The router run IOS 12.2

I succeeded in getting the squid box registered with router

Router#sh ip wccp

but I am unable to browse

tcpdump on the linux box running FC 3 shows
