On a corporate environment, where users have to log to some MS
Active Directory Server, you could configure Squid to use NTLM
authentication and thus have the username grabbed automatically from
username used to log on the network.

As I know, nothing.

Unknown to me.

As in which username? their online banking one? webmail? machine login?
Users may have different user/pass for different places. Squid can only
see those it ro a website explicitly ask for and has no way to identify
which are the local ones being leaked to external sources (IF EVER) and
which are not.

Packeteer acquired a company which sold a WAN accelerator product
which included Squid for Windows, and it included WCCPv2 support.

So its certainly possible, if someone wishes to write it up..

[squid-users] WCCP Support for SquidNT

Hi guys,

I've seen some posts already (dated a while back) that there is no
support as of yet for WCCP on SquidNT, due to the lack of
implementation/integration of GRE on Windows.

Is this still the case? if so, is there any sort of development
towards a solution?

Thanks everyone, Squid Rocks!
