AW: [squid-users] access a site through squid
Hi, can someone try to access the following site behind a squid proxy and see if a window will pop up and prompt for a username and password. The ip is 195.158.110.252 I can access the site. But it tries to install a software. Our security policy prevents that. The message is Depending internet bandwidth, it may take few minutes to download software. Therefore I am not asked für username / password. W.Rost

Thanks for your reply but I tried to remove the security restictions regarding activeX from the IE but still the same. I even tried from differnt PCs and different OS behind the squid. Something that I didn't told that on the same PC I am running the linux firewall could it be the problem? regards daniel Andrey Shorin (22/06/2005 23:44): Hello Bonnici, Wednesday, June 22, 2005, 20:01:00, Bonnici Daniel wrote: Hi, can someone try to access the following site behind a squid proxy and see if a window will pop up and prompt for a username and password. If I try this from a windows xp pc connected directly to the internet it will work fine. What could be the problem?? please I really need help... regards Daniel Bonnici Looks like pop up goes from ActiveX control, but not because http authorization required. So it's look into your browser ActiveX/security settings. And yes, I tried this behind a squid 2.5.10. -- Best regards, Andrey Shorin
