Are your users configured to explicitly use the proxy? ... or transparently intercepted? Are you sure the IM are even using the proxy? most actually don't without going to some trouble to make them. Dear Simon, How was your network topology? Does all connection through proxy first or router box first? Try caching only for port 80 (http), and bypass the others. Maybe a glance on your squid.conf might help us understanding your problem. Dear simon. I think the problem is in ur ISP: 1- do they cache transparently or by hardware the bandwidth?
