Re: [SR-Users] Kamailio Active / Active HA.

2014-12-29 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Dears,
Nobody answered my simple question yet ! what are the prerequisites that i
need prior to using the db_mode = 1 dialog parameter to synchronize the
dialogs between the two servers ?
Do i need to configure Mysql DB Master / Master replication or use only the
DB_Cluster module
http://kamailio.org/docs/modules/4.1.x/modules/db_cluster.html to tell the
servers where to synchronize dialogs ? in other words in Opensips there is
a module parameter modparam("dialog", "replicate_dialogs_to", "
192.168.1.111:8080") to designate the destination that will send the
dialogs to BUT such parameter is NOT exist in the Kamailio dialog module
Doc so how the two Kamailo server will know about its peer to send dialogs
to it ?!

Best regards

[SR-Users] Kamailio Active / Active HA.

2014-12-26 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Dears,
I have successfully configured Kamailio HA using Heartbeat and Pacemaker so
if one of the two servers should go down the other server will own the
virtual IP address and take over.
But i have two questions:

1.This model is considered to be Active / Passive redundancy so one server
will process the SIP signaling until it goes down and i'm wondering is
there is any way two achieve Active / Active redundancy and if so how the
signaling will be handled on the servers so they can be aware of the
transactions and dialogs traversing the servers ? does the signalling will
be replicated or synchronized between the servers or what ?!

2.What about the servers DB and how they should be designed in a cluster
mode ? i want to replicate all the DBs of the server to get consistent user
registration using the subscriber table for example.

Thanks in advance and Best regards.

Re: [SR-Users] Authorization Issue kamailio 4.2

2014-12-26 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Being unable to authenticate using your valid SIP username and password is
a general issue that might be resolved by some checks.
Verify that Mysql is running and listing using the netstat -apn | grep
mysql command also check if the registration SIP requests are being
processed by Mysql as quires by reading the Mysql log file using the tail
-f /var/log/mysql.log command if all the checks are valid then you maybe
have the domain part to be used for authentication in addition to the SIP
username so verify that you domain name did NOT changed.
Also can you past what you see in the logs so we can help ? If Kamailio can
NOT connect to the SIP DB or table the authentication will fail.
Best Regards and Thanks in Advance

[SR-Users] How to Fix the RTP Engine SDP Rewriting direction.

2014-12-16 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Dears,
I'm working on integrating the rtpengine to work with Kamailio as RTP proxy
and i have successfully configured the rtpengine in multi home mode to
proxy the media and rewrite the SDP message whenever it passes trough the
Kamailio internal interface to the external interface and vice versa using
this command.

root@debian:/usr/local/etc/kamailio# rtpengine
--interface=Kamailio-Internal/192.168.100.1 --interface=Kamailio-External/
192.168.50.1 --listen-ng=127.0.0.1:2
--pidfile=/var/run/ngcp-rtpengine-daemon.pid

Also i have configured the "i" and "e" flags in the route[NATMANAGE] to
take care of the SDP rewriting direction the same way it worked before with
my rtpproxy module configuration.

But the issue now is that whenever i make a call from the external to the
internal the rtpengine can NOT detect the right direction as colored in red
below so my question now is : How to set the direction of the rtpengine to
designate that the interface 192.168.50.1 is the external and 192.168.100.1
is the internal ?

Dec 16 09:28:09 debian rtpengine[4714]: Got valid command from

Re: [SR-Users] kamailio error, failed to start.

2014-11-30 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Javier,
This is a normal warning message indicating that Kamailio can not resolve
the IP addresses it is listing at but should not be the cause of the
Kamailio starting failure.
I always use the kamctl start command to control the Kamailio service if
the /etc/init.d/Kamailio start does not work and should work for you if you
have no errors in the config file.
Best Regards.

[SR-Users] Kamailio Failed to Query the Asterisk DB to Authenticate Registration Requests.

2014-11-22 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Dears,
I'm trying to configure Kamailio as SBC in multi home mode for Asterisk by
authenticating the inbound SIP registration requests,i'm following this
tutorial
http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-4.0.x-asterisk-11.3.0-astdb
to achieve this goal. i have modified the necessary changes like the
Asterisk DB URL and the SIP table name and Username and password column and
verified the Mysql connection.

My topology like this Asterisk (192.168.100.10)
Kamailio<---External:192.168.50.1-> SIP
Phone (192.168.50.2)
But when trying to register a SIP phone Kamailio generates these error
messages

Nov 22 17:19:20 debian /usr/local/sbin/kamailio[6434]: ERROR: db_mysql
[km_dbase.c:122]: db_mysql_submit_query(): driver error on query: Unknown

Nov 22 17:19:20 debian /usr/local/sbin/kamailio[6434]: ERROR: auth_db
[authorize.c:175]: get_ha1(): failed to query database

The Auth_DB Params in the configuration file is as follows.

# - auth_db params -
#!ifdef WITH_AUTH
modparam("auth_db", "calculate_ha1", yes)
modparam("auth_db", "load_credentials", "")

#!ifdef WITH_ASTERISK
modparam("auth_db", "user_column", "account")
modparam("auth_db", "password_column", "secret")
modparam("auth_db", "db_url", DBASTURL)
modparam("auth_db", "version_table", 0)
#!else
modparam("auth_db", "db_url", DBURL)
modparam("auth_db", "password_column", "password")
modparam("auth_db", "use_domain", MULTIDOMAIN)
#!endif

I tried also to give the Auth_DB module all the paramaters like this but
still receiving the same error ! So any ideas about the cause of the
problem and how to solve it please ?

# - auth_db params -
#!ifdef WITH_AUTH
modparam("auth_db", "user_column", "account")

Re: [SR-Users] Kamailio Does NOT Forward Registration Requests To Asterisk.

2014-11-19 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Mohamed,

Thanks again for being patient and helpful in helping me to do the
integration between Kamailio and Asterisk ! but i have two questions for
you friend.

1.What is the $retcode variable and how to make use of it because i read
about it and can NOT get the exact idea about its function ?

2.If we need to insert the $retcode variable to get the error code
generated by the AUTH route to know the root cause of the problem so can i
ask you to do that for me ?! i know it might seem to be ridiculous from
your perspective but NOT from mine ! i do NOT have experience with
scripting.I've attached my configuration file and i will be thankful to you
Mohamed if you changed it by adding the variable so i can test again and
feedback.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mohamed,
Thank you for your interest in helping me,I've configured the the auth_db
module with the Asterisk DB URL and the SIP username and password table
name and verified the MYSQL remote connection from Kamailio to the Asterisk
DB and get connected as predicted.

I tried to register a phone after applying the changes and Kamailio
forwarded the register request to Asterisk only once and without successful
authentication ! now i didn't change anything in the configuration file and
can NOT get any registration requests forwarded from Kamailio to Asterisk
and get only events on Kamailio that it can NOT register the incoming
registration request like this.

Re: [SR-Users] Kamailio Does NOT Forward Registration Requests To Asterisk.

2014-11-16 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Muhammad,
If the users MUST authenticate to Kamailio first,This means that Kamailio
should be aware of the SIP users exist in the Asterisk DB to be able to
authenticate them and NOT receive 401 Unauthorized error message from
Kamailio.
My question now might be simple but it a point of confusion to me and it is
how to tell Kamailio about the SIP users in the Asterisk DB ?!

Best Regards,

[SR-Users] Kamailio Does NOT Forward Registration Requests To Asterisk.

2014-11-15 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hi Dears,
I'm trying to configure Kamailio as SBC in multi home mode for Asterisk by
authenticating the inbound SIP registration requests,i'm following this
tutorial
http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-4.0.x-asterisk-11.3.0-astdb
to achieve this goal. i have modified the necessary changes like the
Asterisk DB URL and the SIP table name and Username and password column and
verified the connection.

My topology like this *Asterisk (192.168.100.10)
Kamailio<---External:192.168.50.1-> SIP
Phone (192.168.50.2)*
But when trying to register a SIP phone Kamailio does NOT forward the
authentication request to Asterisk and sends 401 Unauthorized error
message.I've attached my config file if any one wants to check it and
thanks in advance.
Best Regards

Thanks for the reply...i really appreciate that
The "netstat -altpn" command does not show any process or application
listing to 5060 other than kamailio !
Also after using the "ps -aux | grep kamailio" i see only kamailio is
running as single process and does not do process forking as below

Aside Note:
I'm using Kamailio v4.2 on centos and this issue appears whenever i replace
the default config file with this config file from that link
http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-4.0.x-asterisk-11.3.0-astdb
i want to use this file in particular because it is easy to me as beginner
with Kamailo to configure it with Asterisk integration...thanks in advance

Re: [SR-Users] Failed to install Kamailio database

2014-10-24 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
I have another question please...i want to use Kamailio to do load
balancing between multiple asterisk servers - say two servers - .
I suppose that the configuration of the SIP users should be identical on
the two servers but i do not know what is the best way to achieve this
whether it will be by configuring Mysql replication between the two servers
or by configuring one of the server's database as a shared database ?!
Please can u explain that point ?
Best Regards

[SR-Users] Help : Kamailio RTP Proxy Issue...

2013-10-25 Thread Mahmoud Ramadan Ali
Hello ,
This is the first time to put a question on sr-users mailing list and i
hope to help me to solve my issue...i'm following this post
http://saevolgo.blogspot.com/2013/08/rtpproxy-revisited-kamailio-40.html to
setup RTP Proxy for kamailio 4 but it's NOT working as predicted and i'm
receiving this error message on asterisk...

[2013-10-16 05:20:04] ERROR[3216][C-002c]: netsock2.c:269
ast_sockaddr_resolve: getaddrinfo("192.168.1.80192.168.1.80", "(null)",

[2013-10-16 05:20:04] WARNING[3216][C-002c]: chan_sip.c:10464
process_sdp: Insufficient information in SDP (c=)...

The problem is NOT at the asterisk side but at the proxy side...when
kamailio rewrites the SDP message it adds the public IP twice in the "C"
filed of the SDP message instead of only one time like this 'IN IP4
192.168.1.80192.168.1.80' this is because the scripte is calling
rtpproxy_manage() in the routes TOASTERISK /FROMASTERISK and in
MANAGE_BRANCH / NATMANAGE. It should be either or,not bothbut i don't
know how to do this since i don't have any scripting skills so if anyone
can modify the config file in the attachment i will be thankful...
Best Regards'
