He was using a watchmakers alcohol lamp to sterilize his implements of torture before plunging them deeply into my sinus cavity. I noticed the flame was very visible even in the brightly lit examining room and asked him for the secret. He just added a pinch, literally, of baking soda to about 4 oz. of Alcohol and a brilliant orange flame resulted. I used this trick with the Aster King Arthur I had at that time.
