Peter, I'd say is was the alcohol fumes or just maybe the other kind of alcohol that isn't taken in by breathing. The 16mm table inside the medium track was always interesting to look at first thing in the morning. It was an indication as to what was currently available locally or whether or not you had run out of the personally imported stuff.
