I would advise that you find the book "A Beginner's Guide to Model Steam
Locomotives" by Tim Coles. This book shows the procedures for making all
parts of a model steam locomotive, with excellent photographs and good
explanations. Sometimes he makes jokes only an Englishman will laugh at,
but the technical advice is understandable.
It is published by Tee Publishing, and available from many hobby suppliers.
