Re: [Standards] UPDATED: XEP-0051 (Connection Transfer)

2009-07-10 Thread Florian Jensen

Hi,

what happens with see other host on IPv6 and a specific port?
see-other-host xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-streams'
im.example.com:9090 /see-other-host /stream:error
That works with IPv4 or hostnames, but with IPv6 this might be
difficult, as the : is used in IPv6 addresses can vary.
Using an IPv6 address like: 2001:41D0:1:A49b::1 or: 2001:41D0:1:A49b:
:::0001

Greets,
Florian Jensen

isn't this usually done by writing [2001:41D0:1:A49b::1]:5222?

Wow, this is really old spec... and I think not really useful.
see-other-host stream error does the exactly same job.

Yes, it's ancient. I'll let Florian explain the reasoning behind
resurrecting it.
