RE: Struts in J2EE
It all depends upon your system structure. If you are using an integrated jsp server (ie tomcat inside jboss) then you can package struts inside you normal war file. This war file is packaged with the ejb jar file inside your ear file. This can then be deployed as a single package. RE: O'Reilly struts book
Chuck, I know this might be cheeky, but would it be possible to post the chapters that got axed in their current state or are you planning a follow-up book? Regards, Stephen. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 04 October 2002 18:23 To: Struts Users Mailing List Subject: Re: O'Reilly struts book I'm reviewing the final PDF version of the book right now and will be done with that in a week. It should be heading for the printer right after that and be out very soon. Since several chapters had to be cut for size, the Table of contents was slightly reorganized and renumbered. Every chapter except one (chapter 8) was posted that will be included with the book. The TOC that is shown on theserverside review site (http://www.theserverside.com/resources/strutsreview.jsp) is correct. Of those chapters, only the custom tag chapter was never posted. This was because I was re- writing it right up until my deadline. Look through the available chapters by name, don't worry about the chapter number. That has been adjusted in the final version. But just so you won't be disappointed, the TOC on that page is correct. Several chapters (unfortunately like security) had to be axed to keep the book at a respectable size. Chuck I see that this won't be out (here in the UK at least) until the end of November. Been reading the review chapters that were available on theserverside, but there are a couple of chapters missing... does anybody out there have chapters 8, 15, 17 and 19? Perhaps these were never made available, but it would be great to have a look at them without having to wait 2 months for publication.. i promise i will buy the book when it becomes available :~) Thanks in advance, d -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] --- Copyright material and/or confidential and/or privileged information may be contained in this e-mail and any attached documents. I would possible embed a flag in the session and have each action check for it's existence. if it doesn't exist, redirect them to the index page. At first I was using Blackdown-1.3.1_02b-FCS jvm and tomcat 4.0, later I have upgraded to Sun's JVM build 1.4.0_01-b03 but the same thing happen. Now I have upgraded Tomcat to version 4.0.4. I hope that will fix my problem but if it doesn't what should I do next. Please see the bottom of the message for the error output. The server is running RH 7.3. James, The structure I have described below works fine on an embedded Tomcat 4.0.3 with JBoss 3.0.0. Hello David, Yes this is an issue to do with Java, not just Struts. Any java method can not compile to larger than 65535 bytes. I think if you refactor your page, that will solve the issue for you. RE: CTLX - why do i have to be online
Hello, It could be to do with your DNS resolution. You should have a file called hosts (btw what OS are you on) that contains a line localhost 127.0.0.1 If you are running on unix/linux you should have a file called /etc/host.conf. This file determines the order for looking up names. Hope this helps.
