Hi, The useAttribute tag doesn't perform any type conversion. When you specify a classname, the tag will do something like: Classtype varName = (Classtype)request.getAttribute( attributeName ); So, there is no way to specify primitive types. Maybe we can improve the useAttribute tag to let it convert the primitive types. But I think that it will be only possible to convert primitive types to their corresponding wrappers. You can open a ticket for that in bugzilla if you wish.
