I am working on a project which was going to use Struts within Oracle Portal. I've
been told that there are incompatibilities between Struts, WebSphere 4, and Oracle
Portal. There is now a push from some people in the company to use Oracle Portal
completely and not use Struts - perhaps taking across some of the Struts components.
I'd like an objective assessment.
Questions:
1. Please can you provide a comparison between Oracle Portal and Struts, together with
advantages and disadvantages. I realise this is the Struts group :) However, at the
moment I'm hearing only the advantages of using Oracle Portal. If you have experience
of both, that would be great.
2. Which Struts components can be re-used? Can the Struts taglibs, e.g. for HTML, be
used without Struts?
