proposed in February there was some debate on its location within
control-panel, as part of the 'network' applet or as a stand alone applet
like what Aleksey implemented for sweets[2]. Being able to set the system
proxy from within sugar without having to rely on gnome would be a gain for
all those deployments that need to be able to set proxy settings easily in
 a sugar only environment.

Hi Ajay,

No not really, this functionally was proposed and accepted as a feature
upstream of Dextrose, but development/integration stalled at that point.

Hmm.. Welll... yes.
The effort will again be made in the next cycle :)

Re: [Sugar-devel] Proxy settings

2012-11-15 Thread Tony Anderson

Hi,

This implementation implies that it must be set for each XO (in a school
with 100 XOs!). How is it proposed to explain this to the classroom
teacher who would need to make this setting or walk their children
through it.

It would seem more appropriate that this configuration be made by a
deployment as a customization of the image in those deployments where it
is required.

Re: [Sugar-devel] Translation errors breaking browse build

2012-11-15 Thread Daniel Narvaez
Yup! The buildbot turned green. Thanks a lot for the quick fix.

 Daniel,

This should hopefully be fixed now. I trimmed the offending portion
 of the PO and re-committed.

First, my sincere apologies for committing the PO prior to running the
msgfmt check. I hope to get a pootle-helper script out of a GCI
contributor to run this automagically and avoid such issues in future.

Second, it is not excuse, but we had a big drop of Quechua (Cusco)
strings into Fructose and in my haste to commit them, I failed to
follow my own recommended procedure. Nonetheless, the near completion
of Fructose in Quechua is a cause for celebration and I hope sharing
in that joy ameliorates the annoyance just a little.

[Sugar-devel] x11vnc

2012-11-15 Thread David Leeming
Note sure if this is for sugar-devel or devel@ but possibly relevant to both

I've been trying out 12.1.0 / 0.96.2 on an XO-1.

I use Classroombroadcast in trainings, it is very useful. But I can't get
x11vnc installed. Comes back with

no package xorg-x11-server-Xvfb available

Tried yum clean all etc and the repo folder has the contents below

fedora.repo

fedora-updates.repo

fedora-updates-testing.repo

olpc-f17.repo

olpc-f17-xo1.repo

rpmfusion-free-rawhide.repo

Re: [Sugar-devel] Browse activity proxy settings

2012-11-15 Thread Ruben Rodríguez
2012/11/11 Manuel Kaufmann humi...@gmail.com:

I found there is a simple way (but I didn't try it yet) to make use of
the http_proxy env variable from WebKitGtk:

Hi Manuel,

Attached is a patch that implements this. It works against Browse 146.
A patched bundle can also be found here:
http://sugardextrose.org/issues/2426

It is a very simple implementation that makes Browse use the
http_proxy environment variable in case that it has been set. It is
the only change needed, as the patch for webkit you linked comes
already applied from Fedora.

Cheers,

Re: [Sugar-devel] x11vnc

2012-11-15 Thread Jerry Vonau
That's because the rpm is blocked via by olpc from being installed from the
fedora's repos by its presence in /etc/yum/olpc-exclude but is available
from the olpc repos. Think you should try disabling the rpmfusion repos
before trying to install.

hope it helps,

Jerry
