 Dear Sir,

I have searched through the Sugar activities like Hangman, Memorize
etc. What I meant by the game repositories are the activity repositories of
games like these so that I can install these into my device, get to know
about the environment better, think about how will I go on to do my task

I'm really excited to build this project :)

Great, thanks for the update. That's the spirit!

Also, try not to use Sir while addressing anyone here. You can use first
names. We're all equals.

I'd suggest you to go ahead whatever you feel is the best. You're free
to go ahead with whatever makes it easier for users to use it. The target
age group is 5-13 years so keep that in mind while making decisions.

2019-03-23 Thread Chihurumnaya Ibiam
Hi Ketki,

For the heatmap, you can use various colors to show different information
as stated in the project idea - last activity worked on, last project
opened -, you can also add colors for
most used activity, least used activity and other info you can think of.

For Tamagotchi, the widget is meant to replace the current XO in the center
of the screen - but still retain it's functionality -.
Ideally it would still look like the XO, but have some personality.

2019-03-23 Thread Sumit Srivastava
I think that your best bet is to send mails to sugar-devel and not
personally.

Always try to cc sugar-devel@lists.sugarlabs.org even when you send emails
personally.

While I do think that you might want to choose another project if you need
a lot of handholding from mentors in this project, you can also use your
wisdom to tackle issues and improve the dashboard yourself.

Go ahead, design good stuff and start implementing. Just keep in mind who
are we making it for (students/kids), why are we making it (to enable
learning). This high level understanding of how things work here will help
you make useful decisions yourself.

I agree with Sumit, code contributions show us that you're capable of doing
what is required.
In addition to that, writing a detailed proposal of how you'll get along
with the project every week would be great
as this would tell if your timeline is realistic, you can look at this
year's proposal template
.

Sorry, I don't understand your question. What are game repositories?

All proposals and candidates will be treated fairly, of course.
You'll have the same edge as anyone else. ;-)

Regarding your first question:

You'd need to show us that you can actually code and would be able to code
what you proposed in three months of GSoC. This can be done by fixing some
issues, or contributing to the codebase, etc.
