[Sugar-devel] Not connecting to a WAP+Wireless cracking

2009-10-08 Thread Abhishek Indoria
Hey all,
Sorry to bother you:) But I have a problem here, actually, two problems.

First one, I ain't been able to connect to the Access Points using my
XO's, be is 100%signals or 50%. I click the WAP circle, it blinks for
a minute and...nothing happens. Can anyone please tell me why?

Second one, I recently set up an Access Point in my school, and My IT
teacher wants me to test the protection, they know I am quite good in
it;-) However, It asks for a password, as it is a protected network.
Now, I have used Aircrack-ng package. First thing, I don't get enough
IVs for it. I have been trying 2 hours(nearly daily) for last 10 days,
and I have only got 8000 IVs. Anyway, its a WEP protection. Any
suggestions up here? how can I increase the packet/IV gather rate? How
can I crack it? It would be better if I won't be able to crack it,
because teachers want me to prove it. And, I want to make holes in
it;-)

Thanks:)

-Abhishek

P.S.-I have tried the OLPC page on wireless crackingI just can't
get enough IVs. Any decent manual or suggestions would do:)

Re: [Sugar-devel] High School Programmer Volunteer?

2009-10-01 Thread Abhishek Indoria
I have a volunteer high school student who needs to do community service for
school. He's done a bit of python and would like to help us with a remote
programming type task.
Does anyone want to mentor? This might be a nice thing for a slightly more
experienced person also new to the project or an activity maintainer who is
feeling short on time but might have time to guide and check someone's
work?

Can anyone studying in high school like me mentor a high school
student you are talking about??:)

I don't know the students' skill level, perhaps if there is a mentor we
could set up a trial period so if he is not up to the right level there is a
way out of the relationship.

There is no need for it. I have less experience, way too less, but
still, I want to learn everything new I look at. I think he has the
same feeling and curiosity:)

Please contact me if you have any questions,

-Abhishek

Thanks,
Caroline

 Maybe [DP-1] or [SDP-1]?

Yeah...Probably, that would be the best if we distinguish ourselves
from any future groups:)

Well, DP-1 and so are great.+1...how about DP-09 or DP-09-1???

Re: [Sugar-devel] Wireless Connection

2009-07-31 Thread Abhishek Indoria
 Hi
To be specific in what? Look, I want to connect to a wifi network, but there
are hardly any WIFI hotspot in India. There exists some USB modem wireless
connections. Can I connect to them, without owning an USB modem. The rates
are very high these days. Sugar network window(Neighbour view) never show up
any wireless point except the three MESH network points(1,6,11). I want to
connect to the internet, Without spending on USB modems. Is there really any
way in which I can connect to the internet wirelessly and find some Wireless
Points.I also want to know more about SSID, how can I obtain them? How can I
connect to internet then, to any Wireless Points or a USB modem connection.
Is there any way in which I can catch USB modem signals and connect through
them? How else can I connect to internet via my mobile phone? I have it
internet enabled.
Thanks again
