No Walter, I never said that at all! I said that having a different layout on one device to that of another device is not intuitive to the user. Hal mentioned that reading the conversation upside down likely wasn't intuitive to the user based on other experiences. I merely was trying to suggest another alternative. ___ Sugar-devel mailing list Sugar-devel@lists.sugarlabs.org http://lists.sugarlabs.org/listinfo/sugar-devel

[Sugar-devel] [PATCH] changes to Chat to support OSK and portrait mode
Not sure who is maintaining Chat these days, but I've done some work to make it a bit more friendly with touch. Three changes, all trivial (I apologize they are combined into one patch): (1) The textview is moved to the top of the screen so that it not occluded by the OSK (2) The chat is displayed from the top (most recent) down so that the recent messages are not occluded by the OSK and so that the recent messages are proximal to the text entry (3) The toolbar is modified to use the standard activity-button. This means that on narrow screens, e.g. Portrait mode on the XO 4, the toolbar doesn't overflow. The activity toolbar is set to expanded if the activity has not yet been shared so that the share button is visible. -walter -- Walter Bender Sugar Labs http://www.sugarlabs.org 0001-flip-activity-vertically-so-that-it-works-with-OSK-m.patch Description: Binary data ___ Sugar-devel mailing list Sugar-devel@lists.sugarlabs.org http://lists.sugarlabs.org/listinfo/sugar-devel
