Hi Silas, All I know is that HORA FUGIT means THE HOUR FLIES (escapes). It could have been borrowed from one of the two below, or somewhere else. QUOT SIT HORA PETIS, DUM PETIS HORA FUGIT (Vergilius) You ask what the hour is, and meanwhile the hour flies. DUM LOQUOR, HORA FUGIT (Ovidius) While I speak, the hour flies.
