Arrows of Time

1999-12-29 Thread Richard Langley

The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures this year are on time. They are
being broadcast on BBC television and the BBC have put up summaries of the
lectures along with a lot of background information on their Web site. Even
though primarily intended for a younger audience, the pages are worth a look.
Even an item on sundials. The main page is

Dear Mike,
I hope that you or someone will give us a precis of what these
shows are about, so that we on this side of the Pond can know what time
is!
Thanks for the announcement.
John

Arrows of Time

1999-12-18 Thread The Shaws

For those who may be interested, and able to tune in, note that the (UK)
Royal Institution Christmas Lectures this year will be by Dr Neil Johnson
entitled The Arrows of Time, and will discuss the nature of time.

The Radio Times says quote...measures the speed of light with marshmallows
and plays paintball games to show the existance of parallel universes
unquote

The lectures will be broadcast on BBC2 television in 5x1 hour daily
programmes from Dec 26th to Dec 30th each starting at about (though
annoyingly, not exclusively) 11:15 am
