I am interested in the subject from a technical perspective, could you
expound a bit on the reasons for your conclusion.

Thanks

OK, Steve,
I use pine, a text based program running on a UNIX system. When someone
posts in HTML I have to go through a succession of screens selecting
what amounts to viewing the text part of the message as a file
attachment. Even then it will often have long lines which run off
the screen without wrapping to the next line.

I know that there are other people who prefer not to have email in HTML
but I can't speak for them.

Best wishes,
John

As to me, I prefer plain text, no attachments, no HTML.

I also read email with Pine on a Unix system, and definately prefer plain

Hi,

I use Netscape Navigator to read my e-mail but I too prefer plain-text
e-mail as the files are much smaller, meaning less time to download and
also less disk space in archiving.

Judging from the unsolicited junk mail that I regularly receive, the
fancier the html make up of an e-mail message is the sillier it usually
is in factual content.

I also prefer plain text. AOL does not support HTML text. When I use outlook or
netscape I am wary of HTML e-mail since spammers use embedded source tags to
alert them when you open the letter, thus confirming your address as valid.
