Comodo doesn't interfere. I see no reply to your question, have you got it working by now? To me, the software firewall was a problem. In spite of it being configured and even set to 'allow all', it *still blocked the Freenet ports*! When I tried Comodo, it was a particularly annoying piece of software, so I suggest you look at that. There is a site that provides a small program to test if ports are really open; portforward.com. The wrapper complaining about its version is a long standing issue, it seems to be resolvable by manually updating it but I haven't succeeded at that. But it is said to be harmless anyway. ___ Support mailing list Support@freenetproject.org http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe

The way it works is because the data on the chip dies slowly and is partially recoverable even after about 30 seconds of the power down. The story goes as such: if somebody get a physical access to your machine, you need to pray that they don't know what they are doing. Freenet thus can only minimise the risk, for example by making it harder for a less than knowledgeable attacker or an attacker who doesn't wish to give oneself away to prove anything. It's very far from that perfect anonymous system described in Songs of Distant Earth. - Volodya -- http://freedom.libsyn.com/ Echo of Freedom, Radical Podcast None of us are free until all of us are free.~ Mihail Bakunin ___ Support mailing list Support@freenetproject.org http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe

[freenet-support] Unable to Shutdown Freenet
Will not keep Freenet on computer if it runs whenever it wants. It still runs after hitting the Shutdown button at the bottom of the browser page. I shut down, and on start up the Freenet starts running. If this is truly a Freenet, then I should have the Freedom to start or stop it when I want. Right now I feel my computer is less secure when running Freenet. My OSX 10.5 Finder no longer is intuitive when directing files download from the internet. It used to go directly to the desired download folder once used. Since installing Freenet I now am directed to my Home, and have to move through the path to the targeted folder. If I decide to keep Freenet on my computer; I must be able to Shut Down (no access/nothing running in the back ground) the program on my computer. Many thanks, Jon K. ___ Support mailing list Support@freenetproject.org http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe
