[freenet-support] Freetalk is out! (build 1360)

2011-03-29 Thread Matthew Toseland
Freetalk and WebOfTrust are now loadable from the Plugins page on the fproxy
web interface. Please try them! They are marked as experimental so in the
slightly rewritten plugins page only show up in advanced mode. We will remove
this designation soon as they have already been tested fairly heavily.
Eventually we will bundle them by default, and create an identity when
installing. There will likely be difficult scaling issues at that point.

Other changes in 1360: (not mandatory)
- Rewrite the plugins page so it is cleaner especially in simple mode, and
shows exactly what each official plugin not loaded yet is for.
- Russian translation update.
- Deal with Oracle JVMs (1.6.0_22 e.g.)
- Increase the block transfer timeout slightly. (This won't fix the problem,
but it should help; I am working on it)
- Binary blobs fix for a future data propagation/preservation plugin.
- Rewrite the Discussion page that shows up when Freetalk isn't loaded.
- Move the build output for the Eclipse Java IDE to the same place as ant uses
for its class files (compiled classes).

And especially, for his years of work on Freetalk (with help from several other
people), p0s !

Since the fetching and decoding are now handled by the node instead of
the client, and the most detailed information offered by the
SimpleProgress stanza is a blind block count, is there an easy way via
the FCP to obtain a bitmap of unfetched/fetched/failed/fatal blocks for
a given download or upload, so that such a progress bar can be
  constructed clientside?

No, that information is not exported via FCP. Due to Freenet 0.7’s multilevel
splitfile encoding process it would also be quite difficult to display the
same information that Freenet 0.5 gave you.

It would be possible; it'd just change a bit until the later stages. But it's
rather obscure, so while I'll accept patches, I won't implement it myself.

Having said that, we will eventually need quite detailed information about keys
for better reinserts.
