I recently heard[3] of a very similar project Maidsafe[1], which seems to function strikingly similarly to Freenet, although they seem to guarantee private (distributed) storage space. (I also heard Tahoe-LAFS [2]+i2p mentioned, which seems functionally very similar to Maidsafe.) What are your thoughts on these projects? Are they complementary, or misguided?
I can understand the usefulness of a distributed personal storage filesystem, but if they are publically available, aren't they trivial to cripple with junk data?
