This is a link to the main installer file
http://checksums.freenetproject.org/latest/freenet.jnlp

And this is a link to the full installer
http://freenet.googlecode.com/files/new_installer_offline_1239.jar

One of them should work for you.

Re: [freenet-support] broken link

2010-01-09 Thread Philip Holberton
Steve,

I beg to differ. I too run an iMac with the latest operating system etc,
Firefox that is the latest up-date. Your links are not a panacea that solves
the problems I have had in installing FreeNet software - hey simply do not
work! I continue to receive error messages stating that your FreeNet file
cannot be installed. This problem is clearly one shared by many people like me
who are keen to use your software. Are the questions being asked by many would
be users food for thought and perhaps a reason to rethink the problem with
Macs? I would certainly like to be able to download your software, trouble free
ASAP.

Best regards

Holby

Re: [freenet-support] broken link

2010-01-11 Thread steve oliver
I didn't say they were a "panacea", I said those were the links to the
installer files, and they are. I've tried downloading both of them using 4
different browsers, on 3 machines, two of them Macs, on 3 different networks in
different geographic areas, they work fine here. If you are having other
problems, do tell, but as far as i can see there is nothing wrong with the
links or the files.

Re: [freenet-support] broken link

2010-01-25 Thread Ashley Glenday
I'm new here so be gentle.

There are countries (mine included) that are looking at censoring
(filtering, to be politically correct) the internet and blocking
certain sites considered to be undesirable.

I don't want to ask what countries you're from but is it possible that
either your ISP or your country are blocking the site or the files? I
can download the files here so the links aren't broken.

I'd be happy to put the files on a server of mine and give the link to
people off list (to avoid my servers being blocked too).

Another thing to consider.

Ashley

Did you get Freenet working? Sorry for the long delay. The following links are
current, but if they don't work for you, it would be really helpful if you
could say *exactly how they don't work*: What precisely happens when you try to
fetch them? Does anything download, do you get a 404 or a server error or
something else?

http://checksums.freenetproject.org/latest/freenet.jnlp
You should just be able to click on this one
http://freenet.googlecode.com/files/new_installer_offline_1244.jar
This one you might have to manually feed to java on the command line:
java -jar new_installer_offline_1244.jar

Both of these download fine for me, but if you are behind a network obstruction
(e.g. filtering ISP etc), we can arrange alternative ways to get the files to
you. Thanks for trying Freenet, even if your attempt wasn't very successful!

[freenet-support] Broken link in www.freenetproject.org

2005-11-15 Thread Roy at SEVENtwentyfour
There appears to be a problem on this page of your site.

On page http://www.freenetproject.org/index.php?page=metadata&mode=developer
when you click on "?",
the link to http://www.freenetproject.org/tiki-editpage.php?page=EndPart
gives the error: Not found.

As recommended by the Robot Guidelines, this email is to explain
our robot's visit to your site, and to let you know about one of
the problems we found. We don't store or publish the content of
your pages, but rather use the link information to update our map

Are these reports helpful? I'd love some feedback. If you prefer
not to receive these occasional error notices please let me know.

[freenet-support] Broken link on site.

2009-09-16 Thread Travis Cook
I am having trouble with broken links on your website. On
http://freenetproject.org/download.html#unix, there is a link that says
"Read the FAQ on how to enable web-access from a remote computer."
Clicking on FAQ only brings me to the main FAQ page. Under technical
questions, there is a link about How do I allow connections to FProxy
from other computers? but, once again, this link goes nowhere. I am
trying to install Freenet on a headless server. A headless system is
pretty useless if you can't access Freenet from another computer, so
these instructions are pretty important - and it certainly doesn't seem
obvious without them!
