Re: Revive Freerunner with USB power?
I have successfully revive my FR, by just plug in the dead freerunner to a power source (Wall charger) for 1h or 2... And After it boots fine again. 2008.8 : error during update
Hello, During a opkg upgrade, i got this error : Collected errors: * Failed to download http://people.openmoko.org/~zecke/om2008.8-testing/armv4t/pyefl-sudoku_0.0.2+svnr28-r0_armv4t.opk, error 404 * Failed to download pyefl-sudoku. Perhaps you need to run 'opkg update'? I ran opkg update and after that opkg upgrade, but still get the same error message. Is there a opkg clean or something like that to do ? Re: bye bye 2008.8, you wont be missed :(
hum having the keyboard optimized for text message is a must. I mean.. it s a phone... and yougth peole do a lot a text messaging, chat... so having a keyboard with predictive typing you can type fast your text message, or your chat (gchat, Ychat, aol, icq etce tcetc). Personaly, I do not use any xterm, so the keyboard is perfect... if Iwant to enter commands to the phone.. I ssh it... much easier and faster After all it s supose to be a phone, and I inted to use it uing my finger, ad the icon/menu that are on the screen. I really like the 2008.8, the desing of it specially. only thing is the wifi that doesn't work properly.. the rest is fine... it s the best version I have seen so far for the Freerunner... Basicly learn to use it as is, as this is all we are getting with 2008.8 As 2008.8 looks like it was an interim release until FSO is ready, developers for the FR might like to look at the reasons this bug (#1778) was closed and then consider bringing the FSO to a usable state faster. It already has more functionality than 2008.8 as released. To me its looking like 2008.8 is still born and wont be going anywhere fast, by the intention of the designers. disappointed :( BillK Hi, I filed ticket https://docs.openmoko.org/trac/ticket/1795 to hopefully get the existing keyboard at least a bit more usable than only for sending SMS.. Yes, it's telling you about the upstream git version / date I guess, but we don't intend to update U-Boot from upstream at all if we can get away with it. So only our build info is interesting. Anyway it is the right build :-) As you may have seen from my previous message, there's no bug there, only the fact that I wasn't booting from NAND, but still from the factory version in NOR. I updated http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Flashing_the_Neo_FreeRunner in order to provide more detailed instructions for others that may face the same situation. Thanks for your time. Best regards, hmm, I assume the default boot is nand? (that is just pressing the power button) Is it possible to tell on a running FR what it booted from?
