Well if it wasn't there earlier (I swear I tried to install it) its
there now. 'opkg install libc6-dev' fixed my "compiler cannot create
executables" problem

Now I'm getting:
configure: error: no library for posix threads found!

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my SIM. Switching to Qtopia seemed to do
the trick for me, but there might be a way to get it to work with the
factory image.

Greg,
If you don't set a root password anyone will be able to log onto your
phone if they can reach it on the network. I don't think there are any
downsides to setting a password (I did) passwd should do the trick.

Noise while making call

2008-07-20 Thread Greg Bonett
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

I'm experiencing significant noise and very low volume when placing
calls. I did my best to adjust the gsmhandset.state file but couldn't
figure out how to fix it. I'm using the qtopia image right now (only
image I can get to work with my sim card).

I tried it with and without the SD card in with the same result. I
attached my gsmshandset.state file if someones willing to take a look at
it and see if my settings seem reasonable.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks. Thats roughly the same conclusion I came to, but I have no idea
what to do about it. Does this mean for the time being the only way to
compile source for the FR is using the OM Toolchain?

I took a look at config.log but am having trouble interpreting the
results. Looks like crt1.o is causing the problem, but I don't know
how to fix it.
find / -name crt1.o yielded nothing.

Heres part of config.log:

the Fr:

checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no

See `config.log' for more details.

I have gcc, binutils and gcc-symlinks installed.
