There are various ways to get what you want. One way is to start xnest on your Freerunner, displaying on your PC's screen, and then run SHR inside this xnest server. `xnest' is an X server (like Xglamo, etc..) which draws onto another X server's display rather than on some graphics card. So it's "one specific application" (as seen from your PC's X server), but it can in turn display all the applications that you run on your FR. Note that it's a different Xserver than the one connected to the FR's own LCD screen, so you won't see a mirror image. Another way is to use VNC. You may also want to check out xmove or xpra. It doesn't support redirecting connections from one window to another, it only supports establishing and ending individual connections. It would probably be pretty complex to implement such a work-around, but I'm certain that it would be much appreciated in the greater *nix community. ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support

Freerunner Remote Desktop?
Hi everyone Does anyone know of any way to "Remote Desktop" to the Freerunner (to see the Freerunner display on PC, via USB). Preferably for SHR on Freerunner and Linux Mint or Ubuntu on PC... I've looked at: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/USB_Networking#GUI_on_desktop_through_SSH , but this seems to only allow specific applications to be displayed on PC. Thanks :-) ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
