I do know that, but I was trying to track down a networking issue so
to be on the safe side I wanted to have the logging done on the server
not remotely over the network.

My problem still exists and randomly my network interfaces stop
responding and my clock stop, but the laptop is still on as I don't
have any power managment setup. I have it so that it won't shutdown or
suspend. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with the
DFE-690TXD I have installed.

Maybe it's a badly behaving type of web cache or similar?

Are you running with KeepAlives on? Turn it off. It is generally a
bad idea these days since most browsers issue multiple connections
rather than serially request items via the same connection.

OK, I figured how to modify the logs and make it permanent. I didn't
find anything interesting after changing the logs, but I at least made
the circular logs larger then the 10K so I can go back a day or two if
needed.

FYI, you can also syslog to a remote host. And there's numerous
syslog daemons for Windows if you don't have another unix machine to
direct the syslog traffic at.

Hello Alan,

Thanks for the info.

I am running pfSense 1.0-BETA1
built on Mon Dec 26 03:18:19 UTC 2005

Can you provide a simple HOWTO configure a PPPOE server with PFSense
with radius server? What attributes return the ip address? is it
FRAMED-IP-ADDRESS?

Thanks for all

K.
