Re: [pfSense Support] Master Browser

2006-09-21 Thread cmaurand

That was my first thought, but the logs on the domain controller tell me
otherwise. I put in a rule to block all traffic from the lan address on
ports 137-139. I'm hoping that helps.

Why is it doing this and what can I do to get it to stop making

HUH!? Why do you think the pfSense box is causing this? It doesn't
 speak SMB at all.

RE: [pfSense Support] Master Browser

2006-09-21 Thread cmaurand

No freenas. Its a straight pfsense installation. I've installed no
packages on it. My predecessor didn't either.

BTW, I'm very impressed with this thing.

Do you by chance have the freenas package installed? or had it installed
at some point? that is the only thing that comes to mind that could cause
something samba related. If not you might have a another machine running
in your network using the IP-Adress of the pfsense too.

[pfSense Support] Port Forward Question

2006-09-21 Thread Heath Henderson
What are the steps to setup a working port forward?

I have been successful in getting this access established over a PPTP VPN
connection, but I need to setup access to a specific port for our Filemaker
Service to be accessed by some individuals.

I need to get port 5003 (TCP/UDP) Filemaker setup to forward to internally
to our Filemaker server.

I have created the Port Forward rule and Autocreated the Firewall Rule. It
all looks good, BUT

What I am seeing is random connections from several ports from the Client
end to port 5003 on my Port Forward end. Ranging from 61000-64000 but I
don't know if that is all the range there is.

But, how is this specified in the rules to allow from any port to a specific
port?

I answered my own question. Sometimes you have to delete all rules and just
reset.

Thanks

This package got removed at some point due to several reasons. It wasn't meant
to be run on the firewall anyway but to have an unsecured pfSense running as
ftp-server and not as firewall+ftpserver.

Correct, not for a single transfer. Use a multi-threaded download
manager and you might actually get load balanced across both links,
thus doubling your download.

--Bill

Dual WANs are for load-balance and fail-over for internal users.

[pfSense Support] Timeout

2006-09-21 Thread Guillaume Mathieu-Thérien

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my SIP Phones and Asterisk.
I think it's due to a timeout.

If I boot my phones, everything is OK for between 30 minutes and an
hour.

Then, my Asteirsk tells me "UNREACHABLE". If I restart the phones,
everything is Ok.

I've read it could be something with the UDP Timeout. I've created a
rule like this :

UDP ... WAN ADDRESS ... * ... 10.1.1.61 (Phone ip) ... * ... * with a
very long state timeout (86400).

It don't seem to work.

Does anyone have a guess on what it could be, and what should I do with
this?

I would appreciate this a lot !

Thank you
