your PC should have its gateway set to the firewalls interface ip address.
the subnet mask for both should be the same.

[pfSense Support] Broadcom BCM5722

2008-05-14 Thread Adam Costello
I recently posted asking for help because I had an Intel Pro 1000 VT NIC
that wasn't working.

Chris kindly provided a build on FreeBSD 6.3 and the Intel works great
however I've now found that it doesn't like the embedded Broadcom NetXtreme
Dual Gigabit BCM5722.

Is there anybody that can help?

Cheers

[pfSense Support] Traffic Shaper queues

2008-05-14 Thread Wade Blackwell
Good morning all,
I am wondering what I should see on the queues status page when a
SIP-AIX2 call is placed. I used the traffic shaper wizard, the Trixbox sits
on it's own network and was specified in the wizard config. I have had some
voice quality issues on my AIX2 trunk to VOIPstreet and I want to make sure
that the QOS/shaper config is as it should be. Thanks.

Sample of network and call

 Lan Subnet

Call originates from a SIP phone on the LAN subnet, terminates SIP on a
trixbox on VOIP subnet and call is routed out to VOIPstreet via AIX2 trunk
and onto the PSTN from there.

Because when I removed my Atheros wifi card PF was unable to remove an line

After that anything I tried to do on the console resulted in an XML

limited tools. Is this an easy answer/fix? If not and I need to install
fresh again I can do that. Not my 1st choice but I can do it.

[pfSense Support] Problem with site2site ipsec tunnels with L2TP ipsec server behind the gateway

2008-05-14 Thread John Greiner
Hi All,

I'm loving PFSense and have just deployed the embedded version on some ALIX
boards for several SOHO users and in the office. My thanks to everyone who has
supported/worked on the project.

My question is how to configure the the firewall to allow for site to site
IPSec tunnels at the gateway and not kill access to the L2TP/IPSec server
sitting behind the office gateway. If I forward UDP 500 to the L2TP server (OS
X Tiger), L2TP clients work fine but the site to site IPSec tunnels cease
functioning (no response from the office gateway). If I turn of the rule, the
tunnels work fine but the L2TP clients can't connect (no response). I was
using a couple of Snapgear gateways before and like magic (because I'm ignorant
about exactly how it worked) both the site to site and L2TP tunnels worked
(with UDP 500 forwarded to the L2TP server). I'm assuming that the gateway was
inspecting the UDP 500 traffic and only forwarding L2TP traffic that was not
related to tunnels on the gateway.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

John

P.S. I first posted this question on the PFSense forum on May 11th but no one
has responded. http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,9394.0.html

further details, but it seems to work at the moment

surprise might be behind the corner).

Did it work with the official 1.2 version?

This might be something that's not supported until FreeBSD 7, in which

Not sure if this is resolved, I was reminded today of the BIOS reports of the
system status - especially the voltages, a failing
power supply might also cause this problem, check the voltages from the boot
BIOS.
Do let us know the outcome.
Kind regards
