No worries. A friend I have been digging through it off and
trying to make it work.

 As far as I know there is still no MIMO cards supported in FreeBSD.
 You might have some luck with project evil (ndisulator) but this is not
 supported at all.

[pfSense Support] NAT or rule?

2007-10-04 Thread MyStiC
WAN = DHCP (ISP provided)
LAN = 192.168.2.150, DHCP server 192.168.2.0/24
OPT1 = DHCP IP192.68.2.152/24 GTWY192.168.2.101
OPT1 connects to separate router (PPPoE WAN) which handles VPN connections

When I follow the outbound NAT steps for load balancing the WAN
OPT1, I cannot ping OPT1's gateway or get any other traffic there
either. How can I allow traffic coming from/to OPT1 to LAN?

[pfSense Support] setup assistance

2007-09-28 Thread MyStiC
Need help I currently have multiple IPCops deployed and have been
looking for the additional functionality pfsense appears to provide.
I've been trying to setup a test box but am having difficulty figuring
this system out.

The documented procedures for the dual wan do not appear to follow the
latest version which has some additional options not referenced. The
primary unit will have a dual wan, dynamic cable and dynamic pppoe dsl
connections. Which, by the way, the WAN interface has the only pppoe
option. The Option 1 interface only allows dhcp and static. The
config I'm looking for is load balance between the 2, round robin, or
overflow.

Each of the remote sites connect to 1 main site via IPSec using
certificates. They are all dynamic IP's, either DSL or cable, and
each have a domain name. This part looks pretty plug n play except
for generating the certificates.

OpenVPN is used for remote users. This currently uses Radius (non-DC)
and is limited to the private LAN. It would be nice to be enable
client - client inter site via OpenVPN, but @ the moment, when c/c
is enabled a push route for the LAN returns an error and don't have a
clue on the inter-site.

I run intrusion detection which after I had that setup and enabled all
rules, all traffic was being blocked?!?

What OS/config would be required to use the remote logging function?

Backup... I have all the units set to backup to a floppy @ the
moment. Prior to playing w/pfsense I was looking into way of running
off the CD, using the floppy or USB thumb drive for the config
instead a HD. I came up with this after noticing the load time
difference between installing Knoppix to the HD or running it off the
CD and RAM. I've also been having a very difficult time finding
instructions on the backup/restore process.

I'd be happy to document the steps to set this up if it would be
useful for the development of pfsense.
