[pfSense Support] Pftpx server timeout in logs

2005-10-26 Thread stephan schneider

Hello,

i'm getting loads of pftpx server timeouts:

Oct 26 07:19:02 pftpx[642]: #1637 server timeout
Oct 26 07:19:02 pftpx[642]: #1637 server timeout
Oct 26 07:42:30 pftpx[642]: #1638 server timeout
Oct 26 07:42:30 pftpx[642]: #1638 server timeout
Oct 26 07:43:00 pftpx[642]: #1639 server timeout
Oct 26 07:43:00 pftpx[642]: #1639 server timeout

basically repeating every 20-30 minutes, even at night.

Is that something to worry about?

I am using wrap-0.86.4.

Thanks,
stephan.

Only if you have a box that is making ftp connections on your network
that you do not know about. It sounds like a client is trying to
initiate a ftp connection and its timing out. I doubt pftpx is making
connections on its own so search your network for the application that
is hell-bent on ftping.

Hey Scott,

thanks for your answer. I'll check if I can find out where that
ftp traffic is coming from ;-)

Bye,
Stephan.
