RE: [pfSense Support] Wireless card recommendation (crashing)

2009-05-02 Thread k_o_l
I installed the Linksys WMP54G, and I was able to see the card, however
after I added the wireless configuration pfsense rebooted and kept on
rebooting every time it reached the OPT detection. Removing the card didn't
help the box crashing, I had to reinstall pfsense to recover my box. I've
tried both 1.2.2 and 1.2.3-RC1 to no avail, any ideas?

I've been using a Wistron CM9 and it has been working great with my Alix
board. It's a low power card but I added an 8db ceiling antenna and it
covers the whole house from the basement.

I would like to setup pfsense as an AP for home use, I have seen the
hardware compatibility list, but I was wondering if anyone has a
recommendation for not so expensive (Best buy /microcenter) card based on
personal experience.

Thanks

Sam
