squid is beta, there are no gui (yet...) but it should be ready for
transperant proxy.
AFAIK NAT works without any problems, I leave the trafficshaping for
somebody else who tested it lately. (I'am sure there are earlier
answers in the ML-archive)

Hmmm...considering the project hasn't reached beta itself yet :)  If
this is going in a production environment, notice that it's not a 1.x
release, it's not tagged as production ready, so be prepared to
support it.  Now that I've got the FUD out of the way :)  It should be
stable, but do make sure you keep up to date on the mailing list
before upgrading to new versions - just because it's new doesn't mean
it's better (although we're in feature freeze now, so new versions
_should_ be better - ie. less bugs).
