Does it support SMS messages yet?

Yes, under certain conditions...

you haveto setup a local MTS with afake domain like

smsgateway.localdomain

which accept any numeric E-mail adresses.

then use procmail and smstools to thread the messe.

ATTENTION: smstools is a cool daemon which require a mail formated
SMS like:

From: your_sender_id
To: 00491779351...@smsgateway.localdomain
Date: ...

SMS message

SMS message can be in and characterset, but be aware, if you
write in UNICODE/UCS the message can not be longer then 76
characters.

And if the mesage is longer then 76 or 160 characters, it
depends on the configuration of your smstools which then
will send Multiprt-SMS-messages (cn be quiet expensive) or
reject it.

All you need to archive this is a cell-phone connected to your computer
running the smstools daemon.

Note 1: I am using the German O2 provider with the prepayed Freecard
which give me 500 Free SMS with each 30 Euro recharge (maximum
1000 Free SMS in 30 days) thismakes up to 700 SMS per 30 Euro
recharge and is one of the cheapest.

Note 2: I am not associated with O2 Telefonica and only a customer
which use it heavyly

Pidgin Randomly Crashes

2009-12-31 Thread Programmer In Training
Windows XP SP1
Executed through a BAT file (will provide contents on demand) to enable
logging (will provide after I scrub it if asked)
Connects to proxy via Tor client-wide (127.0.0.1:9050)[1]

The only information it gives regarding the crash is the following log
file entry:

(07:00:13) GLib: g_strstr_len: assertion `haystack != NULL' failed
(07:00:13) facebook: executing callback for
/x/1262264402/true/p_1775598532=0

Also I have an issue with AIM but that's AOL and not Pidgin.

MSN always takes the longest to connect on mine, as well.

That looks lime a facebook plugin crash, not a pidgin crash. The
facebook plugin is not supported on this list.

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.

Oh, ok.

facebook plugin is not supported on this list.

I know, sorry. I thought perhaps it was pidgin. Joining the FB plugin

Re: Question

2009-12-31 Thread Jennifer Perkins
Hi again,

I tried to take a screen shot, but I'm having difficulties.

The very top strip has the pidgen face and then to the right says Buddy
List, then right of that the 3 buttons, minimize, maximize and close. Which
I click on the pidgen face, left click or right click, I get the menu
restore, move, size etc.. etc..
Below that is the menu bar --- Buddies Accounts Tools Help
Below that starts the white buddies window.
So, I wasn't able to use that method to select ** always on top ** .

I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba dv9000 laptop if that helps anyone to
help me figure this out. I really do appreciate your help.

Jennifer

Simply clic on the button left to the buddy list and select always on
top. Well, this in linux, I don't know if is the same in windows, you
didn't said what you are using.
